Qantas Platinum One experiences?

Goodness!
Thanks for the itinerary.
I cannot begin to fathom the answer to......
But..... why? šŸ¤£
Why not? Or... a totally irrational lust for the white card, and to be able to post in this thread.

Thatā€™s some effort. I donā€™t personally think P1 is worth this even with Tay Tay tickets but good on you for having the stamina to do it.
Definitely not worth it, especially after all the experiences on this thread (and I've read it in its entirely at least twice). I don't want to think about all the things I could have otherwise bought, including Tay Tay tickets outright and probably flights in F to visit her. It was surprisingly tiring, who knew back to back J would be so hard on the body.

Can I ask avg $/SC and how many days this took? I assume all DSC bookings
Yes DSC. I was trying to do it as cheaply and quickly as possible (sometimes mutually exclusive requirements), and tried turnarounds on DPS for the first time which worked well. I did the first lot over four days and the second over three. The spreadsheet I did had:
  • OOL-SYD-MEL-DPS at between $3.84-4.34/SC
  • AKL-SYD-MEL-OOL at $3.07/SC
  • Positioning to OOL was $6.44/SC
A set of flights was changed/cancelled and the least-worst option was bringing everything forward 24 hours. They made me pay over $1,000 for the change, which threw the $/SC calcs off - I wasn't happy but didn't feel I had a choice.

One of the OOL-SYD-MEL also became OOL-MEL... ORC to follow...

To try to bring it back to P1 experiences (although I'd argue part of the experience is requalifying)... apart from what I've already mentioned, once on board apart from the crew calling me by name there was minimal difference to other J pax.

Didn't QF state that one reason they dumped the *ASAs because people used them to get P1 status through runs? RIP the DSC (or maybe it is more common than I think, but I truly doubt it)

Curious what times you travel. Is there a higher likelihood of a CL invite at off peak or itā€™s it weekends ?
My recent invite to MEL CL was on a weeknight.
Got there in the mid afternoon, there were about a dozen people. When I left, I was the only one.
I would imagine if you get an invite, it would be more likely to be at an off peak time.

First time only (as far as I'm aware). Have been P1 since 2019 and received it once. Only things proactively sent have been the Xmas gifts (except for one of the COVID years) and the recent bag tag.

I wonder if you get it again if you drop from P1 and then requalify a few years later...? The welcome pack appears to be the same as when I received it too.
I can confirm that you do :)

Just received my first CL invite. My flight is Thursday evening from Syd at around 7pm which I would have thought considered somewhat peak so surprised to receive the invitation!
Enjoy! I got there an hour or so earlier to make the most and fortunately my flight was delayed :p

I'm not golden triangling for a month as travelling internally the next month but I do hope these continue as they truly are a grand gesture at minimal cost to QF.

I did just that. Awkwardly I was travelling with a colleague that didnā€™t have lounge access so took them to the business lounge and then moved swiftly into the CL. My colleague understood.

A couple of pics. The Ramen was very nice and a huge step up to the slop that was being served in the business lounge. I have another couple of flights in the next few weeks so crossing my fingers for another invite! As you say, great gesture at minimal cost.

I was in the PER CL on the weekend and left after a fairly short time. I was the only person in there šŸ˜‚
For some reason in my own head, the PER CL has an air of mystery about it, because it's probably the only one that's really truly 'hidden' away. The others are all hidden in plain sight, but PER's entrance really is quite tucked away.

I keep telling myself next time I fly out of T4 that I'll go up the lift and have a sticky beak at the lobby, I never do it though.

It's been a while since I've slummed it in the PER QP, but wasn't the entrance just to the right as you entered the QP lounge?
