I am putting my travel spending on credit card, but do not see any value in PC+. I’m better off with the two lounge passes to give away to friends. The % c/c fee outweighs a $50 hotel voucher.

That’s the only significant benefit for someone who’s already SG or higher. If you’re getting 350k pa anyway - nice but it’s a hard slog to get that extra 200k on top of regular PC (which is the sweet spot with earning SCs on CR flights). Like @Port Power, I’m doing a lot of OS spend on 28° MC so losing those potential QFF but not paying 3% Int tax fee on everything.

Sorry to ask here - this has probably been discussed or documented elsewhere - but asides from AA lounges and EQ lounges (QF flight number only) - are there any significant partner lounges that Qantas Club membership gets you access to?

You could say that benefit (and the additional points for QF Hotels) is that little helper to make it marginally easier to maintain PC+ (almost like the equivalent of a slightly lower threshold - if you already spend on Wine and Hotels).

There are lots of different ways to look at it, indeed. But I guess that most people acquiring sufficient points to reach PC+ are looking to use those points for some benefit other than membership of Points Club. Some may want to travel on award flight for leisure, some to travel on award flight earn SCs to reach a higher FF status level for benefits like First Class lounge access or the holy grail of access to the Hobart call centre, while some may actually want to purchase 42 toasters each year (8400 points for a Breville 2-slice toaster).

And then one has to find a place to store all the free wine received with the points purchases, which is a double challenge when all the storage space is filled with toasters.

Put it this way, Christmas has been sorted since about February.

Glad to just make it to 350k before the end of the year, mainly for the 100sc rollover. In review:

• 20k Flying
• 0 from Qantas Business Rewards - points awarded before they changed these T&C seem not to have applied retrospectively
• 345k on the ground, comprising
  • 208k cards and banking
    • One 70k cc sign up
    • A 10k bonus from one bank for spending with utilities
    • 5k from bankwest transaction account
    • 2k from qudos qantas points saver
  • 3k or so from BP, Uber, and 800 points from one 'Qantas Card Offer'
  • 10k Red Planet
  • 114k Everyday Rewards (emptied after a few years' worth of saving up)
  • 1k from an Accor stay
  • Remainder from various bonuses, 250k PC milestone, etc.

Vouchers have not appeared in the dashboard, expecting they'll probably show up when the membership year ticks over.

Next year probably 50/50 if I'll get to PCP again but a straw man plan includes

• CC sign ups, monthly spend - 100-200k depending on what's on offer
• Flying - 20k
• Red Planet - 10k
• EDR - 20k
• And maybe Health Insurance - 100-140k

I would read this as you can transfer up to 20,000 points. The points can come from any Qantas Business awards account. This graphic on my own account page suggests my reading is what would happen in practice.

I would read this as you can transfer up to 20,000 points. The points can come from any Qantas Business awards account. This graphic on my own account page suggests my reading is what would happen in practice.

Yes that was my reading too. I was wondering if anyone had successfully transferred from two separate accounts to their own. (Always good to have one's interpretation confirmed in practice!)

Will check this out - yes, normally play the hotel status game, and go for flexible rates. But probably worth comparing for the stays I'm more confident won't change and/or don't need the free breakfast.

Mrs Excel and I don't drink but I have noticed the non alcoholic options have been increasing, hopefully more of them become purchasable with cash instead of points.
