I am worse off...
Worse off on lounge passes, better off on SC rollover.

- How does the Qantas Club membership work for those who hold status? Specifically, if I'm a Platinum/Gold member who obviously cannot make use of the Qantas Club membership, does the membership pause whilst I hold status and then resume when I lose status (as is the case for paid memberships)?
Couple questions about Points Club Plus as it appears I'll be earning enough points this year to qualify:

- How does the 100 status credit roll over work? Specifically I've got 180 status credits in my account as Platinum so won't be re-qualifying as Platinum this year. But does that mean that 100 of those status credits will roll over to next year?

100 SC will appear in your new year. However do note this isn't new SC so it doesn't contribute to Lifetime totals or any loyalty bonus totals.Couple questions about Points Club Plus as it appears I'll be earning enough points this year to qualify:

I don't believe so. I take it you're considering not keeping QFF gold in the following year. QC isn't too useful outside of Australia with the exception of a few very specific ports and if you're domestically travelling, I'm sure you could find ways to maintain Gold.-RooFlyer88

My thinking is QF Gold will be useful when flying AA, BA, IB and AY. Yes I can status match elsewhere but I like to think long term here. Qantas has arguably the easiest to achieve lifetime status of any frequent flyer program with a relatively low threshold to OneWorld Sapphire (14,000 status credits) and the ability for flights flown on all carriers to count towards that tally. The holy grail I have (if there is such a thing) is earning mid tier lifetime status on all major alliances so that regardless of who I fly, I get the perks. The other thing that’s nice about QF is it’s fairly easy to earn and retain status notwithstanding the four squiggles requirement. On other airlines like United or Delta you have to fork out serious moolah on them just to be in the running for status. Whereas Qantas is loosely tied to miles flown and can be easily gamed in certain circumstances.I don't believe so. I take it you're considering not keeping QFF gold in the following year. Perhaps try to status match away while you're still plat/gold and maintain something else if you're moving away?
Has been documented here early on up thread. But anyone chasing PC+ would know of the 250k tiny miniscule add-on.Just thought I'd post an update here. Yesterday I requested Choice convert my 130,000 points over to 104,000 Qantas Points and this morning I see the points from that hotel transfer landed. These points have put me over the 350,000 threshold for Points Club+.
One other thing I should mention, which I'm not sure it has been brought up in this thread before, which is that it's technically just 347,500 points to qualify for Points Club+. The reason being is that when you hit the 250,000 points threshold you earn a 2,500 bonus point gift which also counts towards Points Club status.

Yeah, it’s pretty odd. I would have thought a couple of extra lounge invites or vouchers would be more of an incentive….Has been documented here early on up thread. But anyone chasing PC+ would know of the 250k tiny miniscule add-on.
A rather token gift imo.
But then the people with Gold would be on here complaining that it's no incentive for them.Yeah, it’s pretty odd. I would have thought a couple of extra lounge invites or vouchers would be more of an incentive….
Anything over 150k is not a huge benefit to SG and above - unless you can organically go all the way to PC+ for the 100 SCs and discounted booze! But then the people with Gold would be on here complaining that it's no incentive for them.
But that would have the WP/P1s complaining….If Qantas really wanted to incentivize earners whilst allaying the criticism received by the lack of J award availability what they could do is offer milestone bonuses at 500K and 1 million points earned. For instance, if a milestone bonuses at 1 million was a JASA coupon I suspect many collectors interest in the program would be raised

Complaining about what? Even P1s and WPs get their requests knocked back by QFF. At least here there would be some guarantee they can use their points on a QF J flight they needBut that would have the WP/P1s complaining….
Cheapening as in WP entering the Flounge on a JQ domestic flight? The ability to earn SCs on QF classic awards via PC/+ is great. But I'm against cheapening premium lounge and flying benefits earned by bum in seat flying by giving it PC+ people who don't fly QF enough to earn status outright.
Going to have to disagree with you here. Qantas places very little value on paid flights with them, particularly at Platinum level and below. Sure you have to fly 4 segments with them or JetStar but that’s it. Once you’ve done that feel free to fly anyone else and earn SCs. Indeed there are reports on this very forum on how people were able to get elite status for hundreds or tens of hundreds of dollars flying Qantas and other airlines. It is very easy to earn large number of points especially if you have a business without spending a cent with QF at all. Yes QF make $ selling points, but they should (and currently quite rightly do) value customer who does a reasonable amount of paid flights with them more.
There should definitely be some interplay between Green tier, points club and elite leversIf they offer anything above PC+ I'd suggested it should only be an extra bonus for holding both PC+ and QF SG/WP/P1 status (bonus points roll-over size depending on status tier earned/retained that year, no bonus for soft landings).

You seem to be all for a benefit that you can enjoy (rolling over SC) but not one that you (I assume) already have (lounge). The ability to earn SCs on QF classic awards via PC/+ is great. Correct. Those memberships cannot be transferred to others and can only be used in a limited set of lounges, specifically QF operated Clubs and the occasional business lounge. So it doesn’t affect WPs or P1s most of them time in terms of how full lounges get. And abroad, that QF lounge membership is nearly useless. Yes you can point to the odd carve out here or there but again it’s few and far between. The other thing that QF lounge membership gets you is greater baggage allowance, something that has no impact on other elites and something you must be flying on QF Metal to receive. If a PC+ member doesn't fly much, giving them lounge access shouldn't impact others much, so why the concern? If they choose QF over other carriers for those few trips, then QF will be happy.
2020 was a completely different time. Qantas operations were largely shutdown due to you know what. And it was unclear how long this would last: would it be months or years? QF needed a way to earn $$ when people weren’t flying them and that’s where Points Club really made sense. And certainly in 2020 offering lounge access even to Flounges wasn’t a huge deal as no one was flying. I remember the good ol days of 2021 when I could rock up to a Qantas lounge and have a good portion of the lounge to myself whilst I waited to board my flight to DRW booked during one of their fire salesIt's a shame nothing has come from all these surveys and rumours of improvements to PC/PCP.
