Qantas Points Club Discussion

I achieved Points club on 23/11 and no lounge passes yet - has anyone had them show up within two weeks or do I need to call?

First time or renewed again?

No benefits until member year rolls over for follow on years

renewed again I think- I'm ashamed I don't really know - so I should get the passes when my year rolls over at the end of January

Yes, within a few days of rollover. You’ll probably get an email confirming but lounge passes often appear sooner. Wine and hotel vouchers should be on your PC dashboard within a few days.

I got a hotel voucher as soon as I retained but no wine voucher yet

Because PC+ members know that gift cards is absolutely the way to go with points redemptions (ha!), PC+ members get an extra 10% off gift card points redemptions (30% total) until 25 December 2024.

You can laugh but if you mine this site deeply enough, you will find dozens of posts from members cashing out huge Qantas and Velocity balances on gift cards in early Covid - and feeling pretty smug at having done so.

And I'm sure there will be some that take advantage of the offer because of the amount of points they earn, better than to have a stupid amount of points sitting there doing nothing!

I have a stupid amount of points but I’m nearing mid-fifties and I know that when I retire, I will no longer be able to replenish the points. I’m making hay while the sun shines.

I cashed some gift card in an early covid panic moment. I regret.
I did too, but in hindsight I still think I'd make the same call again. Best value possible? Definitely not but better than zero which was what I was afraid of.
Were they VA1.0 points during the “near death” experience?

I hedged my bets and tossed about half my VA points to SQ. Only then to have the issue of previous transfers (pre the big Deval) about to expire! Fortunately, we bolted out of the gates in Mar 2022 on SQ to London! Used the lot.

I still have nearly 400k VFF points to rundown…
