You had me worried. Almost changed seats

This is the photo I'm basing my thoughts of 36k on.

loooks like good legroom so why I thought it would be a good seat.
thoughts anyone.

I think it depends on how tall you are. For me, being 6' 2"/188 cm tall, it looks bad because I'd never be able to straigten out my legs. So for me, the seat behind is better. But I suspect that for even slighty shorter people, the seat would be fine.

I'm about 175cm tall.
should be right don't you think?

You our should be fine, I am 179cm and enjoyed the room twice last year on 36, I can see why taller folk may prefer the row behind, for me the lack of recline in your face is a big win.

I always choose bulkhead seat, there is enough room there (I'm 190cm). Look at the photo, if you choose the seat behind and someone decide to recline in your face, it's like you're sitting in Y.

Disagree! And I'm ca 190cm too. (except for the recline bit - but even then it's better than the bulkhead unless there is a cut-out)

Edit: Flights where I don't intend to sleep excepted!

It's not uncommon to see pax reclining in PE. Unlike Y, there is no "guilt factor" for reclining in premium cabins.

If I've paid for Y+ and want to recline then I will do so, day or night. So I'd expect others to do the same.

Looking at the photo and measuring up with the tv screen/windows etc and relation to my recent experience with 23K (Day flight), that seat has at least 5" more legroom.

Stretched out, my ankles (achilles) rest on the footrest - that why I can't use them.

Being 183cm I'd take it in a flash.

I know - I've been in QFi Y and PE often enough. But I can report from just a couple of days ago that the recline in QFi Y is alive and extremely well utilised.

Just to add to this: Qantas PE is excellent - seats, treatment, respect. Big shock then when I travelled Qantas Premium ticket last December Sydney - Tokyo - London but code-share BA frm Tokyo. Sure BA PE seats are a little bigger than BA economy but in all other aspects you're travelling economy. And I think we all know how dreadful BA economy can be. One word if ur thinking BA Premium - Don't!

Were you on a B747 or the B777? I have picked flights on the B777 as they reportedly have a newer (better!) PE product than the older B747s. We are flying BNE-SIN (BA code share on QF51) then SIN-LHR with BA. We'll just have to make the best of the daytime QF service and just try and sleep through the BA leg!

I have preselected 36JK on QF51 so any more feedback on the bulkhead seat will be appreciated (I'm about 6 foot). The alternative was 35AB.

Don't count on it.....my money is on ReLoad sitting closer to the front come boarding time ;)

Amaroo is correct, Upgrade to J came through.

Sorry about the non review :( - Seems you have some good pics and reviews here anyway.

Just booked the family to fly y+ SYD - LHR return in November, with a stopover in DBX each way. $3640 for each adult and just over $3000 for each child. Best price I can recall ever seeing for this on QF1 / 2.
Any suggestions for best seat choices for a family of 4? The little ones are 4 and 2.

Mid PE cabin, on any of the 2 pairs of window seats. Side bins good for storage, and the whole family can be together. Avoid the bulkhead.

Do QF codeshare on BA NRT-LHR?

Do QF codeshare on BA NRT-LHR?

Unlikely. In any case the One World schedule download ( which is quite good about codeshares - though no perfect) does not show one.

As well I have not found any reference to QF codes shares with BA since the start of the EK partnership.

Happy wandering

Fred

The flight information on NRT's website show codeshares, but there's no QF numbers, so I would say there isn't one.

FYI, BA operates to/from NRT, JL operates to/from HND, and they codeshare with each other. (not quite yet, but starting very soon). There are no other codes attached.

I did fly Y+ on the A380 a few years ago to LAX in the bulkhead J/K seat and remember it being ok - big advantage was no one reclining into you. Has something changed with the new configuration? If we grabbed the row 24 & 25 pairs then only family members will be reclining into other family members.
