Better hope flying over Russia will be allowed by then otherwise the time savings will be minimal

they just couldn't do it could they ..spinning "a 15 per cent increase with no reduction in space between seats" as a good thing..

Looks pretty decent. Will be great to not have to use the 737s for international anymore. Still a little worried about the Y experience. Despite saying "fewer seats" it doesn't mean much if the seats they do have are cramped into a woeful 3-3-3 layout.

3-3-3 on an airbus is still spacious… cabin is quite a bit wider than the 787 (where it really is cramped)

Those maps are a bit exciting, perhaps we will see some narrow routes ex-PER opening up. I wonder what happens to the 330s, perhaps the days of lie-flat transcon are soon to end.

Surely from the angle of passenger comfort, more narrowbodies and fewer (or no) widebodied aircraft is regressive.

I vastly prefer the latter, especially when in the 1-2-1 business class (in favour) and 2-4-2 economy class (configuration out of favour compared to yukky 3-3-3) setups.

I think so.
The increases in Jetstar's 321XLR order (20 converted from 320s for delivery from late 2024), on top of the 18 they have coming from this year,

Also makes me think it's more likely that JQs 788s will come back to mainline to replace 332s.

Likely that lie flat transcons will be greatly reduced (apart from the PER-East Coast redeyes) since VA are flying 737s those days.

ET saying that First suites don’t have windows. Anyone seen anything to differ?

The suites do look nice and the separate chair and seat is good I think. I flew Etihad Apartment and it was great, except for lack of ventilation ( abs a hard bed!). It got quite hot and no personal air vents. I see these suites will have “ personal ventilation and humidification controls” ✅

I think I’ll still prefer a stopover or a transit, especially if Qantas priced this ‘unique experience’ as I suspect they might!

Lmao flights to South East / East Asia from the East Coast with a domestic style J? There's either no plans to use these aircraft on any flights >5 hours or i'd be taking the 20J config 320XLR with a grain of salt.

Unless they use J class seats similar to Starlux's A321neo, I would not fly to Asia on a current domestic J seat.

PR is one airline already flying lie-flat 2-2 config J seats from SYD, MEL and BNE on A321s (though the SYD route is apparently meant always to be lie-flat 1-2-1 A333s and the MEL route again that from July 2022).
