Qantas Status Credits Boost

Interesting choice of words with "status support". Qantas is tuned into the 'Australia's second currency' line. How long before the Australian Council of Social Services and the trade unions come out with media releases like 'ACOSS calls on Qantas to extend StatusKeeper until coronavirus eliminated'. A Current Affair will have interviews with every day Australian battlers struggling to survive on their monthly $1000 JobStart and 50 status credits StatusKeeper. "I mean, how am I supposed to get my yearly free pass to the Qantas pub and priority stickers on my duffel bag when all Qantas is giving me is 50 status credits a month?" said Joe Bloggs from [low socioeconomic suburb]. "It's just not enough."

In all seriousness, while it looks like the whole thing is subject to the usual complicated language, it seems like Qantas is striking the right balance for a program that doesn't reset everyone's status on 1 January.

Agreed it's not clear. I've tried calling Qantas Hotels and they've got NFI....

Will try calling QF Loyalty later to check...conditions seem to imply UP TO 100 SC per booking and 125 for promo period.
Looks like they've rushed this out without including the most useful information or briefing their customer service staff. After straining my eyes reading all the fine print on every page and attempting to communicate with a chatbot, I'd be really grateful if anyone can shed any light on the hotel SC deals please :)

I'm certainly very happy with the offer from Qantas. With my membership year resetting on 30 June, being able to boost my SCs prior to being able to start travelling more on or after March 2021 is greatly appreciated. And it helps me get closer to LTG - bonus.

It's been said once, must it be said 100 more times, you can't please everyone. They're probably operating on a skeleton staff of 5 people. Come back in a day or two and I'm sure all the information you could want will be available.

Ditto - I looked through all of the sections too. But it didn't stop me and MrsK booking two nights at the Ovolo Nishi as a Staycation, at the end of the month. For research purposes only of course, so we can report back to everyone else.

....They're probably operating on a skeleton staff of 5 people....

This is used as an excuse for everything at the moment. Given taxpayers will have paid about $585m in JobKeeper payments to Qantas by its end in September .... couldn’t some of these people do something rather than just be stood down? For example process flight refunds and changes. :p

However, I do agree we can be patient and I’m very pleased with the status boost.

I take your point 33kft, and I'm definitely appreciative of what Qantas is doing, but it's a bit sloppy to leave out key information, particularly when doing so will only increase the workload for those five poor skeletons!
Just sayin', but now I will wait with serene patience 😇

It will depend on when international borders reopen and flights start again.
If they open later rather then sooner, as some people have been suggesting, then this offer from QF may prove useless to many.

unless they fly to NZ or interstate?
it has to be better than the alternative?

As a March Member that didn't benefit from the extensions this is a pretty good response from QFF. It allows them to be flexible in how the support people with differing end-dates as required.

Still not pleased with the style/tone of the responses I got from QFF when I sent my enquiries/feedback about their response (I'm fairly certain they don't actually read those contact forms, just read the subject line and assume that their copy/paste response will answer the question), but at least they've come to a considered package that they can extend as needed.

And this is exactly good for you to qualify for your March 2022-Feb 2023 membership year....
I'm LTS so it's a moot point. My only goal is the 690 SC's I need to achieve LTG. So they'll kick the can along the road towards it (along with any flying I do whilst my double yolker is still in play)

I think QF is doing and has done well with all this positive work. Here we are high fiving and slapping each other on the back. Great Stuff.

Do we remember and think of the poor sods who rubbished QF, went Virgin and now staring into the bottom of their empty beer glass.

Over with that thought, back to QF. This 600 SC coming to me is most welcome and I look forward to always flying in the afternoons to partake in their beverage selection.
