Qantas Survey: "Help us get to know you better"

You're right simongr...I think I'll just go back to my corner and play with my toys before I make a complete A$$ of myself :o :( :D

[Note to self: always fully understand offer before commenting - in fact, go back and check them a second time before sending comment]

$56,973

There are five prize packages for two people. So take out the $25K spending money and that leaves $31K or $3.1K per ticket - not J pricing.

Just completed the survey.

I don't feel they are giving the right choice of answers for flying based questions.
For example "We would like to know about airline selection" lists a few obvious choices that my 5 year old niece could think up. The real answers are the things that *ACTUALLY* matter, like: attentiveness and/or grumpiness level of crew, recognition of status (and benefits) and boarding/de-boarding times.

Also I get the feeling the questions are designed to help them find more partners, eg: a clone of the velocity shopandearn.com.au

I'm glad QF realise they need to improve and are taking steps to do so :)

Agree that the use of "other" was involved a couple of times in my answers. Similarly, how many people don't do return flights (ie. xONEx, xCIRxx, multi-city trips). They should have used sectors IMHO because it skewed my response.

Completely agree with your last comment, inaction would be unwise.

I think the purpose of the survey was really just to work out with which Institutions they need for their Frequent Flyer Points programme and not really about Qantas service as such.

Given there are over 8M QFF members and even taking into account the number of members who have opted out of Marketing, I'd think they'd blow a server or two trying to get them all out at once. They may have purposely staggered the numbers per day, or per week, so they could crunch the numbers on an ongoing basis or tighten the questions. They are still loose QF, so still time to think about it.

The lack of "comments" section leaves me unfulfilled - I had plenty to say to myself instead of typing it...not all of it complimentary :p

Qantas didn't think I was that important.

Received the email at 12:00pm according to the time stamp.

Might complete it tonight.

I completed the entire survey but on the final screen I noted the disclaimer at the bottom that said something along the lines of 'we reserve the right to keep all the information you've given us, keep it against your name and share it with others if we decide'. I didn't submit it.

It got a bit personal, but at least there was a 'not prepared to answer' option.
QF really don't need to know who I bank with and how many times a week I grocery shop.

Prize is only economy, but from the look of the value its full fare. With a $5k cash component, upgrades should be affordable.
A

Well, given the QF rep's statement recently in another thread that the person whose name is on the ticket owns the ticket, perhaps you could just cancel the ticket and use it book something more appealing.

Received 1 yesterday at 3pm and 2 today at 1pm still waiting for 2 more, although I might have changed the e-mails for the two missing ones to their own e-mails, given they no longer live at home. :) Two filled in and 1 waiting for miss FM to come home from Uni - although I doubt if she will fill it in.

Far from exclusive, since I got it. I asked for points on my mortgage.

Not sure about children doing the survey since I'm fairly certain under 18s can't win the prize.

Sent from the Throne

I do research for a living. One thing to think about, is that if you really don't want to do something about an issue, then don't ask the question, as asking invariably leads people into thinking that something will be done about it. Same with the comments section; Qantas don't want to know, they just want answers to the questions they have asked and are interested in.

So how many put a Zero (or was it a 1 - extremely unlikely) next to the question "How likely is it you will refer Jetstar to someone else?" :)

My partner's email arrived on Wednesday 14th, mine on Tuesday 20th. We're both Gold. I'm finding it difficult to get excited about return flights in Y; it also sounds a bit tight-fisted, given that QF is the carrier! Whether $5K in cash is enough incentive remains to be seen. Beware the T & Cs though:

An upgrade cannot be purchased on airfares with cash or Qantas Frequent Flyer points. :(

You must be referring to this:
Your consent: By responding to this survey you agree that the information you provide to Qantas in response to the survey (the "Answers") may be collected and stored with your personal information held by Qantas Frequent Flyer, and used and disclosed by Qantas and its related bodies corporate, agents and contractors for the purposes of the Qantas Frequent Flyer program (including delivering program benefits to you and sending you partner offers) and otherwise in accordance with the Qantas Frequent Flyer terms and conditions. We do not sell your personal data to third parties.
I don't see any real issues with attaching the information against my QFF profile, it is likely to be out of date with any changes, so probably valid for no more than 3 months.

There were no "other comments" area (God knows, they wouldn't have been wanting to disclose those answers of mine, had I been able to insert them anywhere). Yes, one was about JQ ;)

This looks more like a statistical survey than anything. I doubt they want to share commercially the leakage of pax to DJ, EK and others.

I received mine two days ago. At first i thought it was a (extremely quick) reaction to my updating the online profile the other day to allow market research.

I look forward to winning, guesting where possible and doing a full trip report! :p

I received that survey request back on the 9th Feb. From the terms down the bottom it looks like they are running the survrey from February through to the end of April. Is surprising the number of different surveys Qantas run. Often the surveys seem to be run by different market research firms for Qantas.

Nope didnt receive it, but I did get yet another e-mail about the grand prix sale.

Boy I would love to see some of the selection criteria that goes into their selection for offers and marketing.

Oh I cant complain, I did get one edition of AIR magazine.........

Boy I would love to see some of the selection criteria that goes into their selection for offers and marketing.

It does say at the bottom of the email "To unsubscribe from "Market Research" only, please click here." So I would think that the criteria is at a minimum that you have the option to receive market research ticked in your profile.

Haven't had a QF survey since I moved to Singapore, but used to get them not infrequently. I guess focus is squarely on the AU market, but maybe that is part of the problem.

Got mine today, completed this afternoon. Hopefully we can anticipate action in response:D

OR will there just be enhancements:shock:
