Used it for the booking, but it doesn't help with the actual emailed confirmation. Not a big deal, booking has appeared in QFF so as long as it's there I'm fine!

Just copy and paste the entire contents of the email into Google Translate. It won't be neat and kempt, but at least the barebones text will be carried into there and you'll be able to read it (or have a translation cross-reference).

For most part, you can probably guess what all the text is, or the purpose of blocks of text, plus you've got QF MMB, so no big deal.

I had mine translated in Gmail, here is what it says:

"This is the final summary of his trip. You will find information about your itinerary and confirmation codes corresponding below. There is no need to contact us to reconfirm any of the details available in this e-mail. Just print them out and take them with you on the trip.

His itinerary is also available online prior to departure date. Just visit the section
My Itineraries in your account Expedia.com.br ."

somewhere down below:
"
We recommend having your cell phone available so we can contact you in case of updates or important news."

"
Some airlines may require you to show the same credit / debit card used for booking when you check-in."

And some other details that should be easily guessable. Also links to airline terms and conditions and some other stuff.
Overall, nothing interesting
:)

Not sure why the bucket isn't O, which is a very common sale bucket. May have anything to do with the system being different, or different buckets for different points of sale (it is possible that fares and buckets are different for each point of sale, but may be equal in price).

Something I read on the Emirates/QF Joint Pricing FAQs suggested that S, O and Q were never used on the mid-haul routes to SIN. It says:

"S, Q and O inventory classes will no longer be dedicated to selling long-haul Australia – UK/EU v.v. itineraries"

So I suspect N was the lowest you could buy on that route.

I know there was a slight price increase on the sale fares the other day - so that could explain any discrepancy over the last few days.

Ok I'm not seeing any availability through Qantas at all for my route. The original was YUL->AKL and now I'd like to change it to YUL->SYD and change the dates. Any searches don't include Qantas at all.

Qantas don't fly to/from Montreal - try the AA website, I travelled this route in January .... YUL>LGA>LAX>MEL

I understand that when you book with this site you get two charges - one from Qantas Brazil and one from Expedia Brazil. Does the Qantas Brazil charge earn you bonus points (I've got the ANZ FF Platinum) as it normally would with an applicable FF card? Or is everyone's experience that the bonus points only apply to Qantas Australia products?

My experience with ANZ Plat is no BP for QF international.

no bonus with NAB for Qantas SAO Paulo, however I did get a bonus for Qantas Tokyo

ARGH, sat on it and now the fares have soared for the weekend I wanted. Still cheap compared to what they'd usually be, but not cheap enough to jump on for a 3 night getaway... :( :( :(

Give it a week or so, QF are keen to fill that extra capacity to Asia so they will release more sales.

Thanks for the tip, yeah had planned to keep an eye on it. In a week the hotel rates will probably have gone up though.

In fact I can't find a single flight through the .br site for under $550 return any more?

You won't, it goes below $550 when it's a sale, mind you to keep things in context, $550 return when you get almost $200 worth of points is hardly a bad deal.

I was toying with the idea of a long weekend in SIN over Anzac Day and there were still seats for $510 SYD-SIN return available on thurs night on the .br site, which was after the sale finished.

Oh absolutely agree it's still a good deal.

Thanks for the info, didn't realise $550 was the "regular" price through the .br site.

Cheers

Thurs is when I was looking too - I found $401 when connecting via MEL (510 direct) but not anymore.

Bugger! There goes that idea! Interestingly though, when I looked on the iPad I was getting the cheap fares, looking on my work laptop they were more than double that price.

Thanks for your help guys. I just tried to book a return flight from SYD to LHR and I'm having the same issues as everyone else with the card being declined. I'm using ANZ FF Plat Visa. I've been charged $59.85 Expedia fee and then 2 x $0.99 fees. Does anyone have any experience with this happening? Does it just drop off after a few days, or will it eventually go through? The other posts I've read in this thread weren't too clear about what happens. Cheers!

My "pending" charges dropped off after a few days. I couldn't book at all the first time I tried, rang CBA and they said it was fine at their end. Was fully expecting to have to ring Expedia Brazil and hope for the best but gave it one more try to book the next day and transaction went through straight away. Could be worth trying again tomorrow.
