Thanks for your help guys. I just tried to book a return flight from SYD to LHR and I'm having the same issues as everyone else with the card being declined. I'm using ANZ FF Plat Visa. I've been charged $59.85 Expedia fee and then 2 x $0.99 fees. Does anyone have any experience with this happening? Does it just drop off after a few days, or will it eventually go through? The other posts I've read in this thread weren't too clear about what happens. Cheers!

What price are you getting for SYD to LHR? I'm not sure if what I'm seeing is correct.

Last week I booked BNE-MEL-DXB-LHR-DXB-BNE for May for just over $1400 incl Expedia fee (and it was about $100 cheaper than that a couple days before I booked).

Same dates in May now look like they're about AU$15-1600. QF site is $22-2300

I saw it at the same price (didnt check the routing) this morning, was looking in April though.

Flying SYD-MUC then home LHR-SYD during mid-Sept. It went through with CBA Debit MC, didn't work again with ANZ. Card has been charged $1427 from Qantas but I haven't been charged an Expedia fee - it didn't display on the booking page so here's hoping that it drops off the ANZ card in a few days! Showed up on FF page within minutes.

Sorry if this has been asked before, but how can you make sure your booking an upgradeable Qantas flight class on expedia.com.br?

It depends on what ticket class you book into.. The ultra cheap classes are, as you would assume, are not usually upgradable...I wish they were.

A few days/weeks late to this, but is the deal still on?

Having a quick look at the expedia.br site and it seems I can get MEL-SIN-MEL for around $525 if i'm not mistaken...

Finished over a week ago BUT check later this evening have a feeling their will be some cheap flights again

Just booked economy on br site Mel Lon in October. QF was $2500.00 each where as same flights on br. site was $1878.00 each now thats a big saving. Mrs Ansett is happy that means an extra $1400.00 spending money LOL

I had a look at SYD-BKK for a friend in June and the airfares were not that special.

It is now $1100 on QF site so I guess you saw about $800 on br site. Last time it was on sale for $800 on QF so I booked at br about $510.

That is the one. June is getting a little close to wait for another special. Or is it?

Last time it was on sale in March, I saw a lot of availability for May. July seemed to be the only expensive month (except from around 25th).

Qantas seems to release a lot of sales this year. I remembered when I started this thread Mar 1, BKK was over $600 ($900 on QF site).
I didn't book it then March 16, it went down to $510 (another QF sale in less than 2 weeks and BKK was cheaper) so I booked that one.

Qantas have had the task of filling capacity to Asia after the removal of the LHR services, there will be more sales.

Exactly - Asia flights on QF were always very expensive due to having to compete for seats with people flying through to Europe. Now with the demise of the SIN/BKK stopover there is a whole heap of extra capacity - great for flying to Asia (however hard to nab a 747).

Anyone found any juicy deals onward to europe from singapore? I'm heading over in September and have booked this as my 1st leg.

It's not too difficult to get flights from SIN-Europe for around $1K SGD (~ $790 AUD) or even less. The usual suspects are Qatar and Emirates so keep an eye on them, but often will see good deals on KLM, Lufthansa, Air France, Finnair, Malaysian, Sri Lankan and Turkish too.

Just as a reference point today flight QF5 SYD-SIN on a 747 was the lightest load I have seen on a QF flight.

The whole of premium economy was open to economy and only about 50% full and business class looked to have an even lighter load. The single economy cabin looked lightly loaded as well.

Not good, so take whatever cheap airfares you can take now to Asia as these services cannot continue this way....

Their own fault for giving up on FRA.
