Even the most popular airlines run the occasional empty flight. Probably been packed 2 weeks ago during the holidays

Its still the school holidays in NSW, they still have a week left only started on the 12 - so their first day off was Monday just been.

Finished over a week ago BUT check later this evening have a feeling their will be some cheap flights again

Just booked economy on br site Mel Lon in October. QF was $2500.00 each where as same flights on br. site was $1878.00 each now thats a big saving. Mrs Ansett is happy that means an extra $1400.00 spending money LOL

or being a kind caring considerate husband you could try and up grade her !

I don't think it is just FRA.

I am sure most people have heard about Berlin as a rumour but that may just be a rumour.

Yeah alot of traffic was going to LHR.

Interesting to note, on QF's international they don't even mention FRA, HAM, DUS etc...

What happened to QF's slots at FRA I wonder?

Oz bargain has the br site on it now so wonder how long it last especially as there is one report of Qantas contact and a cancelled ticket

They have had it before, so no real issues, and I doubt the report is true, given the tickets are legally sold and legally cannot have YQ surcharges added.

Hey guys and girls,

Long time reader and thankful for all of the info so far, first time posting though!

Planning a trip to Singapore with my wife for the Grand Prix in September (18th-23rd). Currently on Gold status while my wife only just signed up to get some points from recent flights and is on Bronze. We have a total of about 135,000 QFF points.

Having read about expedia.com.br I've done some searching and found a route that will get me from Perth to Sydney to see family (QF576 on 13th or 14th of September), to Singapore for the GP (QF5 on the 18th) then home to Perth (QF78 on the 23rd) for ~$750.

I was hoping to use some of my points to upgrade to Business for the SYD-SIN leg on the 747 (was really hoping to get on a 380 but they no longer use them on that route).

Does anyone have any recommendations for using expedia.com.br to get a discount economy ticket on QF5 that is upgradeable?

Happy to hear any tips to facilitate the upgrade or ways to get the cost down further without an upgrade (using points, etc). Not after a "status run" as my wife prefers direct flights and I'll probably make platinum within 12 months of when I signed up anyway (September 2012).

Thanks in advance!

Hi Lukus and welcome.

If you select right you will find that the booking class which is shown on the last page before you enter names etc. Look out for those upgradeable classes look for the following

B, G, H, K, L, M, S, V,

and avoid these if possible

E, N, O, Q, X

Good Luck and enjoy :D

Thanks Ansett, I had seen that the booking classes were O for PER-SYD, N for SYD-SIN and V for SIN-PER but was hoping someone might have some info on how to possibly alter flights to get an upgradeable ticket for SYD-SIN. Looks like it's not possible.

Have a look at the dearer options when presented with options, you won't get upgradable fares at the lower price breaks.

Hi Buzzard do you have Windows 7 as that has the option to automatically translate.

If not then

Basically though hit VOO which I presume is for flight then I suggest that you open up another window for say expedia.com and folllow the prompts as all the lay outs of expedia are about the same. This should make it a hell of a lot easier

Good hunting
