Just had a play on the .br site and found SYD - LHR $400 more expensive than on the .au site (same flight, same day). Guess it pays to shop around and be careful before parting with the hard earned.

What dates as I booked in October and saved over $700.00 per ticket

Hang on a minute, I didn't do the currency conversion (well I am a blond!). .br site R2250, .au site $1804. QF1 departing 1705hrs 10.10.13 return 08.11.13. Will have to get the currency converter out.

Seems too good to be true, has anyone bought these and used them ?

do they appear on your qantas FF profile if you provide your QFF number ?

Suggest you read the thread, the answers are in there, such as it being charged and ticket by Qantas.

Hi, I booked a good value PER return to somewhere far on Expedia.br, has anyone who has already travelled through them had any issues with Qantas honouring the flight?

I just received a call from Qantas (really thinking they would cancel!) but instead they confirmed my reservation and asked to fix a billing problem they were having with my seat selection fee.

Are they able/allowed to cancel and refund my flights because it was booked on Expedia.br? I'm a student and it would hurt a lot if they did that after I've booked everything else.

Thanks for any help!

Welcome, bl5965.

You should not have any issue whatsoever with purchasing through Expedia Brazil. Others on AFF have done this and no one has reported an issue.

Picked up SYD-LHR return in November for $997 on expedia.br

Same corresponding flights on Qantas.com was $1800.

Now to decide which cities in Europe I want to visit...

wow just checked the points calculator and looks like I'll earn about 40000 points on the trip!

Won't get much cheaper than that.

I've managed to find MEL-SIN-MEL on EK Metal for $450ish AUD on the dates I wanted.

I've really been looking for MEL-HKT one way but that's actually more expensive than MEL-SIN-MEL...

Also will earn 7,000 QF points I think, not sure about SC though. (Not a QF flyer at all these days so unsure how the new agreement works.)

Does anybody know what FF/SC points I'll earn on a PER-DXB (Emirates codeshare with QF flight code), DXB-LHR and LHR-MEL trip in O, with a MEL-PER final leg in U? Unfortunately the calculator doesn't accept PER-DXB or PER-LHR as an acceptable booking yet. New to the program but hoping to get Silver this year.

Is anyone of the opinion that this loop hole will soon be closed somehow?

I would love this to become standard but I just don't see that happening....I just punched up SYD-DXB-LHR for $1005 return for Nov/Dec. Talk about making excuses to travel :)

Dumb question maybe - but I don't use Expedia. (Forgive the ignorance.)
Does it never give options for anything other than Y?
Or is it a peculiarity of this particular site?

Perhaps QF are aware of the 'loophole' and are happy to sell these 'cheap' tickets to get their post-EK deal figures and loadings up, without being too obvious about it.

Yes I suspect it will be closed by simply offering higher base fares for the Brazilian point of sale that include fuel surcharges in the base fare. This is what most carriers do AFAIK.

But perhaps for now Qantas are happy to let it go to get the numbers up with the restructure of QF intl.

sooooo disappointed I can't take advantage of this (darn real life aka work interfering with flying!): would have been less than $5k to fly me, wife and three rugrats (age 7-9-11) to UK in October/November!

Have just booked MEL-SIN-MEL for $460ish. Appeared in my QF account straight away, now to book SIN-HKT!
