Qantas SYD&MEL to SIN $510 ret ($410 through .br site)

Just booked PER-SIN-PER for the end of May for three nights - two pax for R$1,874. I work that out as $909 AUD. Very happy with that, especially with the double SC promo.

Considering that my QF(BA) SIN-PER-SIN tickets have been typically in the AUD$700 range (or less) I can't see QF being in a urgent hurry to close this loop hole.

Buy/Redeem your ticket to SIN or HKG and then the return fare to Oz from there. Use the high AU$ to your advantage if you can.

Happy wandering

Fred

Brazil is Portuguese so I don't think your Spanish will help you much!

Of course it is!
I did know that. Thought that there was something strange with my post at the time but brain was off on some other deadline.
Teach me to post in the middle of other work, won't it!
Thank you for the jogger. Have a Portuguese friend whose aid I may enlist with a couple of little projects.
Obrigado.:)

I must say...my Portuguese is getting better by the day!

Mine too:D Have made 3 bookings now 1 MEL-SIN and 2 MEL-LHR for half that of the QF website.

Just about to book flights for a colleague for his wife and two children MEL-SING for $1500.00 versus $2700.00 on the QF website

If you like this you're going to love fuel dumps (except for deciphering the cryptic codes on flyertalk)

Anyone got a good oneworld 3x for C6-C1? I have a couple to share if anyone wants to PM me for C1-C2 and a good tip for C6-C1. If you don't understand this then please go read up for a bit before messaging me.

I think this is in effect what is happening on this site btw

I have booked in a quick SIN weekend!

Leave Sat morning, get back home Monday morning

1 night in SIN with a late check-out :D

Also, expedia.br isn't fuel dump in the classic sense. More that Brazil doesn't allow charging of fuel surcharge and as such fares published elsewhere aren't generally published for brazil. On this occasions (s) Qantas seems to have dropped the ball and made these fares available for booking in Brazil. Which makes me wonder if I could play around with expertflyer a bit and find more.

Thanks for sharing all the valuable info on this thread. These fares are just too good to refuse. Have booked MEL-LHR-MEL for myself and my wife for early October. $2,200~ for both of us in the A380.. now that's what I call value. Charge went through with no issues and appeared immediately in 'manage my bookings'.

Are there any other expedia site besides the brazilian one with cheaper QF flights? I'm hesitant with the lack of english, and I don't have a 28 degree mastercard

Why do you need a 28 degree mastercard? No matter what card you use the forex fees are going to be far lower than the $400-$800 you will save.

What's the hesitation? Very few of us speak portugese here.

Oh I just thought that there were some problems with the transactions not going through on other cards because of the foreign website

Also Expedia.ie as noted earlier in this thread. Irish site so all in English. Not as cheap as Brazilian website though.

Don't need a 28 degree card - any card will work, but some cards may require you to call the card issuer to allow the transaction to proceed, as they think it may be fraudulent.

Can anyone tell me what's going on with the mix up between british pounds and brazilian reals? What will my card be charged? Sorry about the poor quality picture, but it says $ R next to the price but then underneath it says that all prices are in British pounds.

Nope. Visa and Mastercard are pretty global and cope with foreign transactions just fine. You may get a call from the bank making sure it was you making the purchase. You could ring them first to advise of purchase from expedia and qantas brazil

Its just a translation issue. Mine was same but charged in Brazzillian Real. Then converted to AU$

Thanks heaps!! I was looking at a few dummy bookings for SYD-SIN over the June long weekend and it turned out to be R$970 which is about $470 AUD return! Make make a weekend of it :)
