usually you have to wait after mid night in Brazil or so. same as when the sale ends, it will end later compared to australian sites.

The prices weren't updated at midday, they must have just kicked in.

Economy is around $400.

Can you pay using Australian Credit card? with out any special requirements?

I haven't tried personally (about to consider it for Singapore F1), but I've read here and on another site that transactions have gone through successfully.

Yes, you will get two charges:

18/03/2013 VISA-EXPEDIA BRAZIL 800-315-7301 USFRGN AMT-118.000000#282 $59.79
17/03/2013 VISA-QANTAS A IRWAYS SAO PAULO BRFRGN AMT-720.360000#2825 $364.97

Has anyone found anywhere else apart from SIN?

markis, does that mean an Aus cc will get charged an extra AUD 60 + 360??

BKK, MNL and NRT all come up cheaper than on the Australian site from the playing around I did.

Guys, is there a way to add a stopover. eg MEL - BKK with a stopover in SIN?

It would appear you are considering Jetstar. Buy two separate tickets from the website. May even be less expensive that way/

Happy wandering

After killing off the Asian transits to Europe, Qantas must be bleeding passengers for them to continue offering such ridiculous (and obviously loss making) prices to the SE Asian routes. How long is it sustainable for?

The prices ex Australia are hardly ridiculous at $800+ (other than SIN) ignoring this BR trick.

The promotions are very short lasting just a few days. They should run longer sales like most carriers do...

on the QF website its $700 per pax for a MEL - SIN return. While at BR its only $400AUD per pax. A saving of approx $600 will get you plenty of chilli crab in SIN .

Yes i know that but very few passengers are buying their tickets from a Brazilian online agency.

Factoring in current fuel prices and inflation, even $700 return to Singapore is historically, extremely low for a full service airline and likely to be loss making at these prices...a sign that Qantas yields to SE Asia are under significant pressure after the Emirates hook up

Emirates have had fares on MEL-SIN at that price range for a long time.

This is very early days in the Qantas international strategy, it will take a lot of promotion to bring the numbers up. Historically QF have been overpriced on SIN, HKG and BKK in comparison to other carriers fares to the east coast.

You have no idea how many are buying from Expedia.com.br, lets be honest here, given the trick was Ozbargained well before it appeared here and each time gets 4000-10000 click throughs. I think it's fair to say they would be selling a few, probably to the crowd you normally find on scoot/ Air Asia etc, who tend to be very savvy and dollar focused, why fly Scoot when you get $150 of frequent flyer points flying QF to boot ;).

The cynical view is until they decide the route is unprofitable and cut back services.

If you take what QF are saying on face value, they now have extra capacity into SIN and need to get bums on empty seats ASAP.

I have shared the Expedia BR deal with a few friends who have now booked, and at least one friend of a friend has also booked. Word gets around...

.BR wont process my MC for some reason, called Comm Bank and they said it was expedia. What cards are you guys using?
