just booked myself to london next winter through .br. June30 QF21/BA6, Aug1 BA25/QF128 for ~$1500. Certainly cheaper than anything i could find on an aussie website. thanks to all that have posted on this thread for the tricks!

Reverse-routing is cheaper. $820 AUDish return.

What does reverse routing mean? Does it mean you have to book it from overseas to Australia? thought it was more expensive to book two one way tickets and the software won't allow you to leave say, UK, before you get there,
Am waiting to be enlightened... please? JoyV

a) Yes.

b) Not one-way. Return. But reverse. It's not for everyone. It's for people who want to make a return trip within 12 months.

Also called nested ticketing (which was used when airlines had weekend stay rules).

e.g if needing to travel to Singapore in March and June.

Flight 1 - Aus - Sin - Aus (out March, back June)
Flight 2 - Sin - Aus - Sin (out March, back June) -- the ex-SIN fares are often cheaper.

Thanks for that info. Shame i didn't find that out as I am going to BKK 3 times within next 12 months. Will remember it next time. JoyV

I am yet to find out how to get cheaper flights to aus ex BKK, by the time you add the tax that QF doesn't show until the last minute, I have found it cheaper to book ex AU via .br.
Flying QF that is.
Ex BKK to Europe is another matter!

Nice glitch. Mainly possible out of limited airports.

Try SIN and BKK and see if you get cheaper airfares than the ones offered on Qantas website. And if you do please let me know so I can book as well!

I found that the current Royal Brunei Mel- Bkk special of $530 AU is cheaper than ,br. site but only goes from mid Jan to end of March 2014.
Wonder if they will have similar deals after they introduce the Dreamliner with its larger seating capacity after April? JoyV

I am very interested in QF21/BA6 via NRT to LHR flight. Is there any way you can stop over (maybe on the way back) in NRT within similar price range? That would be fantastic.

I had a look at this myself, and from what I could find around my dates it was roughly $200 more for a stopover in either Tokyo or HK in either direction.

Just booked using this site for the first time, MEL - SIN, for easter next year. Procrastinating for the past 5 days ended up costing me an extra $100, but still cheap @ $620 each for peak period.

Followed the advice and put it on hold for a couple of hours, which dropped the $$ a little.

Just received a call from 28 degrees checking whether it was me on the other end of the card - all good! One charge from EX & one from QF.

So a newby like me had a dabble on the .br website.
SYD to EDI rtn in January. Only A$9,500 return in economy. Hmmm. John.

Probably not the best choice to start with. Not all of the fares which we know and love on the QF website are loaded into Expedia Brazil, which limits which destinations we try for.

Wow... dabbling with some dates next year for MEL-BKK or MEL-SIN yields amazingly cheap results..

Fact is, I'm only interested in a one-way fair, but in typical QF fashion there are no good fares available for one way, but its coming up around $500 Return for BKK -- anyone had experience with 'throw away' ticketing with QF? Looking at booking a oneworld award for my partner and I; was going to start with a MEL-BKK sector, but at this price it makes sense to exclude this from the award and put another sector (or stopover) in somewhere else.

Alternatively, in the fare conditions I see you can cancel "after departure" and receive no refund for most red-e-deals (big deal) - would this be viewed more favourably than just no-showing?

Works pretty well to BKK in PE too for the limited time QF have it on offer, about $1350 ex MEL vs $1750 on QF.
