Qantas to Close First Class Lounge in Singapore

That is strange as it only applies to the first lounge. I have a Jetstar flight in November leaving at 10.40am so be interested to know if this is correct.

...open from 06:30 to 09:30 and 15:00 to 23:30 (like it used to be before QF32 was discontinued). This is new, as it was only 15:00 to 23:30. Or is this just a mistake?
I think it would be a mistake - I was there 2 weeks ago for a JQ flight at 0830 and the lounge was not open.

Definitely a mistake, I was in SIN from 7.30am until 9.30pm last Friday (don't ask!) and both the J and F lounges didn't open until 3pm.

Hi everyone,
I am flying through singapore to London on the 16th of December in Y and then returning on 2nd jan in F. Is there still the situation that there is one lounge available for all? I have a qantas lounge invite for the journey on the 16th so once i can grab a shower between flights and get a bite to eat then I am happy. I was wondering what the go was on the return leg, if there was a seperate lounge anymore for F. The return trip was a treat to myself after years of wanting to fly F.

Cheers,
EuroFlyer

There are currently 2 lounges J and F and this seems to be continuing with Business class, F and OW Emerald pax allowed into the F lounge [which was the larger business lounge] and the now smaller J lounge [was the F lounge] for the rest. On your return flight you wll have access to the seperate but busy F lounge.

From the latest update on the Qi website the new Qantas lounge (for all) will be opened NEXT year rather than Dec as they had been saying.

I have not seen a date for the second QF/BA lounge to be closed but assume that it will when QFi open there new lounge.

The old J lounge at SIN is currently being used as the F Lounge. It is for passengers travelling F/J on OW and OWE travelling any class ( my simplified rules) and the old F lounge is for everyone else.
There is no dedicated F Lounge for F passengers but you will be able to get a shower, and food and drink.
Go to the shower first as the queue builds up quickly when all the LHR aircraft arrive.

Thanks for the reply Princess Fiona. Il make sure to do that when I first get into the lounge.

Wasnt sure what was happening in singapore in the last few weeks.

No one is sure (and BA/QF aren't telling) what the long term will be. QF have said that they are closing their F lounge but that doesn't explain what BA are going to do for their F pax.

Still nothing official on this, right?

Has anyone seen any other evidence either way, like information brochures removed from the SIN lounges or anything from BA?

I'll have a good look around and ask some of the lounge staff when I'm there in a couple of weeks, it all still seems a bit vague to me...

Thanks Andyzx for the reply and the info, hadnt spotted your post til now.

No other "F" lounges, but I like the Skyview lounge - it does the Job.

JL use a lounge in the same area as the QF lounges, it does have a small "F" subsection - I don't know id *O access rights apply though.

I was reading AUsBT today and found it hilarious that they advocated the CX Skyview as much better than the QF/BA lounge...

why so hilarious? quite a few people here prefer it (me included), the qf lounge has all the atmosphere of a school library on a rainy day...

Its the SATS lounge and no OneWorld access. JL passengers only permitted with a lounge invitation provided at check-in. JL provide lounge invites based on cabin and OneWorld status entitlements. But if not travelling on a JAL departing flight, a OneWorld Sapphire or Emerald will not be permitted access via JL rules. You can get access to the regular section of the SATS lounge with Diners Club card as mentioned in several other threads.

I actually agree 100% with you. I visited the Skyview Lounge last month and thought it was pretty poor.
Unless there are 2 Skyview Lounges the one I was in was like an open air regional QP with awkward corners and stairs and pretty poor F&B IMHO

there's a separate indoors area that has more seating, F&B and a quiet area, although i prefer the open air section - the QPs are quite claustrophobic by comparison and packed to the gills (similar to when thousands of flights are cancelled and people sleep on the floor in the terminal lol).

Second the claustrophobic comment. I fly 2-3 time per year between MEL and LHR via SIN and last time I was in the SIN "F" lounge (QF10 in August) there was no free seats. Since then (October) the business lounge has been a challenge to find a spot also, which for me was a lesser experience than the BA lounge at LHR (nicer wine at LHR too).
