Here's hoping for something like a first-year fee waiver offer down the track - I don't think I'm going to shell out $149 to switch away from my HSBC Qantas card just yet.

The qantas media release says 5 QFF points per international dollar spend.
This is very attractive to me .
? a mistake.
If so can they weasel their way out of it?
I am a bit sad to see no offer of status with card usage.

Definitely a mistake, the release has been updated

Looks like the press release has been updated from 5 to 1.5 for overseas transactions.

Don't think this card distinguishes itself apart from whats already available out there, its a pity they had an opportunity to offer something more unique.

Complimentary Travel Insurance cover is provided by Chubb, some people who do Amex's Travel insurance I believe.

When it was first posted, it said 5pt/$ for international spend - it was fixed within a few minutes

Yes , I saw that as well - 5pt/$ for international spend :)

If it's not, what a let-down . I can already get 2 points/$ on my Amex.

I certainly hope the QF team are reading this thread so that they can get an idea of how disappointing this product is:

- No SC sign-on bonus
- No Apple Pay
- No earn on government spend
- No fee-free first year
- No special perks compared to other products on market
- Average QFF sign-on bonus
- Average QFF earn rate

60K pts for $149 or $0 if can get Ann Fee refunded when cancelling aint to be sneezed at - tks Qantas I'll have me a slice of that please.

It was all a *pipe dream really.

* an unattainable or fanciful hope or scheme

Do you sign up now or wait for a better offer once the initial influx of applications has subsided.

I think I will wait for a better offer that will arrive in about three months time....
