Qantas to release thousands of Classic Reward seats in Y, PE, J, F on 24 Feb 2023 around 11am

Looking for Y seat PER-SIN in April / May
Non-existent?
will affect the wandering
Fred
Depending on how long you need up there... there's a couple of options outbound in May:

And these inbounds, that suit only the first outbound:

It's interesting that it's all, or nothing... 0s most days, and then wherever they are visible, it's 9s.

Cheers,
Matt.

Not many peeps then saying they have found a "bargain"? Not much doing with this QF release then?

I had SYD-NAD-LAX return on FJ J, in November to go to the Las Vegas F1.
Late last Friday evening (after a frustrating hour at 11am seeing QF F for my date, but the website erroring out, when trying to select, and then being otherwise engaged for the day), I managed to get QF J SYD-LAX return, and the direct flights I was after (although wasn't too upset with the FJ I had originally to try their A359 J class).
Then this morning, logged in and checked as I usually do, for availability on my dates. And an F SYD-LAX QF11 was there, a day prior to my J, which was not there from Friday evening onwards. And a whole bunch of J QF11 from mid-Oct to early Nov. Jagged the F, very happy.
So seems some more trickle release is ongoing, for the route I have been sweating on anyway....

'Bargain'? Not sure what this refers to as this was never about 'cheaper' flights. But I'd suggest you read the thread again. Many, including myself, are reporting successfully booking award flights.
Well cant good use of points be a bargain? Yes indeed I see a few successful rewards.

Booked to Tokyo in mid November returning early December in J.

The KUL + JAL flight to NRT was existing prior to the release of seats but I managed to get a return QF flight to SYD on the way back which is a quicker flight with less layover than flying the partner airline. Looking forward to trying different J products with different airlines.

Definitely were more QF flights available around that time. Also SIN had a lot of availability in J and F from MEL with Emirates and QF that went very quickly. I unfortunately didn't see much CX to HKG but I didn't get in that early.

Unfortunately due to being sick over the weekend I didn't bother chasing Qantas up about the auto cancellation last friday of a QF1 syd-lhr F award.
There is a silver lining I have managed to book and have the e-ticket for a QF1 F award syd-sin on my birthday for later in the year 🥳🥳
I might head to Europe the next day on a J award with AY (thanks to being Finnair Platinum till the end of Nov this year) or I might just spend a few nights in Singapore before heading back to Aus 🤷‍♂️
Either way I'll get to check out the Qantas Singapore First Lounge and the Qatar lounge as well 😁

was able to book Y for the family (2xadults, 2xkids) SYD-BKK Dec 25, was able to get J SYD-SIN Dec 25 last year which was great. hopefully will J be released if they do another batch release later this year.
We're on same flight. LOL. Qantas must know they're not selling many revenue seats on that fflight.

@wandering_fred I've been looking at BNE-SIN and vice versa for long time. I cannot find classic awards.

Just found a classic reward First seat SYD-SIN in early Aug. Now i just need to figure out a way home, lol

Which arguably we should be able to do anyway. Not really onboard with Qantas hyping up these releases, would rather a few more seats available regularly.

Nice,
I noticed there were also SYD-SIN flights available on Xmas day as well. Last year i managed to score 4 J SYD-SIN on Xmas day as well. Obviously no one wants to fly on Xmas day. Hoping for a new release later in the year with some J seats.

Some classic reward business seats are still available from Singapore to Melbourne on the date I want but they are only via a transfer flight through Brisbane (the direct flight now no longer has business classic reward availability).

Trying to convince my partner to change but she's adamant that she doesn't want a transfer flight even though it's on QF business via BNE vs JQ economy direct.

Really no contest! Even if it was JQ “Biz”!

I’d be questioning the longevity of my relationship if + 1 wanted to fly JQ Y instead of business class…or at very least saying “sure I’ll see you in Melbourne when we both get back. I look forward to comparing trip notes…” 😝😝

I know! She's just wanting to avoid a transfer just in case of a flight delay or similar that we would miss our connecting flight!

Again, I have reminded her that it's QF business over our current JQ economy flight..

We've got more than enough points as well, and I don't foresee us going on another 300k points trip for a while..

Given JQ’s recent international track record with all their broken 787s, I know where I’d be putting bets on delays happening….

Since the inbound is QFi, if there was a delay they would just rebook you on the next available flight.

Yep, we've seen and discussed those JQ incidents, both flights being to Melbourne too.

I've also advised her of this.

Seems she just needs more convincing - but overall she's just wanting a direct flight which is now no longer available (other than our confirmed and ticketed JQ rewards economy seat).

Basically she's picking a direct flight on JQ economy > business on QF with a 2hr transfer in BNE. It's the last (coming home) flight of our 6 leg trip.

The rest of our 6 leg trip is in business (combination of QF, AY, AF and BA), but for the final leg, we just couldn't find reward seats in anything other than JQ when we booked it (was prior to last week's release of seats).
