Qantas to release thousands of Classic Reward seats in Y, PE, J, F on 24 Feb 2023 around 11am

I just noticed on the QF page the word "progressively" released at 11am... I had in my head the whole swag would get dropped right on 11am.

note also it says 'up to' 50% more which just means between 0% more and 50% more for any given route. the terms specifically are "~ Up to 50% more flown Classic redemption segments as a proportion of the total flown segments on Qantas marketed and operated flights versus the equivalent measure over 2019 on selected routes in Australia from 14 July 2020 until 30 June 2023, all trans-Tasman routes from 18 April 2021 until 31 December 2023, and all other international routes from when two-way unrestricted travel commences for each route until 31 December 2023."

I hope this doesn't cripple the Qantas website, as the Jetstar sale did to its website today.

If I was a betting man I'd be putting money on the website being on life support by lunch time tomorrow. I was just poking around a few dates and routes later in the year to see if I could spot some classic rewards and the multi city calendar had a whole lot of phantom availability then errored out repeatedly. Searching point to point wasn't much more stable.

This unfortunately is normal…

Yup, I've been getting the same all day today. Getting loads more errors than usual

I think the website is already crumbling - I've tried to search for a simple Singapore > Melbourne classic reward seat and it's coming up with a '500 - that's an error at our end' message, 5 times in a row now.

I think you probably won't even be able to logon tomorrow.

This we're releasing oh so many international reward seats blah blah might shoot Qantas in the foot if sorry when the system shuts down and everyone gets error messages and can't get access to reward seats.

Bad publicity as system can't handle the traffic.

What was their profit....piddly amount into few lounges and what nothing into their IT systems!
Same old same old QF.

It's a bit hit and miss atm - and that's not even with the "thousands" of reward seats available / released yet!

I've tried now up to 10 occasions to just look at a Singapore > Melbourne classic rewards flight and 50% of the time I get to the flight selection page, the other 50% I get a 500 error message.

I just want a simple QF economy (ie. 2nd from the worst) classic rewards seat to replace my JQ economy seat! Lol.

Already happening. I've been getting this error for hours tonight:

"500 - that's an error at our end
It looks like something went wrong with our system. Try reloading the page and it should work, otherwise head back to the homepage. "

Same search for me, same result. Absolute garbage website. No excuses for it given the profit gloating today.
“Should work”.. says it all really.

Got the Jetstar waiting page for the first time and Qantas now has the 500 Internal server error... people getting eager even though the reward sale hasnt started yet lol

Hrm, as a (soon to be expiring) P1, I’m calling in before 11am tomorrow to see what I can do (F to LAX for Christmas anybody?)

Got 3x J in USA-AU in January. Couldn’t get anything outbound before Chrissy (yet)…

I managed to swag a DFW-SYD in J last time, I don't remember the website having issues. If there were it didn't stop me booking.

I don't actually need any new flights as I've booked all my trips for the next 12 months.
