Qantas TravelPass discussion

My used Qantas Pass' (with $0 balance) still show up under my bookings, which is very confusing. I can't believe I had to create a spreadsheet to track my passes and my outstanding balances.

If one has never received a Qantas pass email with the details but can see a Qantas pass in the booking list is there an easier way to retrieve these details without calling?

The easier way is to find the “email”. For example, Could it be you paid for a fare for a relative and used a different email address ?

the emails were sent a long time ago and fortunately I picked up on them and wrote down the details

on the booking page in my account

aha!

in true QF Consistently Inconsistent(tm) style... some DO and some do not.. and sometimes they change what you see. Now used to be (some) flight credits (old style) would show in the account, but not always (and thus this drove me to keep my own records to be sure and not forget)....

i have not seen TP's show on my online account myself, but have read anecdotes that they do.. or some do.

So... everyones mileage may vary :D
100% agreement

in fact 3 ‘invisible’ flight credits from March 2020 had been archived....

even if as promised they have been resuscitated they still remain invisible and not on my booking list.

they were after all originally GV Gift vouchers bought during a DSC

Nope have searched both personal and work email accounts, it's odd because I can find the original booking email but not the transfer to Qantas pass [sigh] off to call Qantas then.

I hold a current Qantas Pass with about A$2000 credit.

I want to fly from the US to Australia round-trip. This obviously prices out in USD. The Qantas Pass terms say it can be used for a different currency, but when I go to book, no Qantas Pass payment is shown at all. I did read elsewhere that I can put the number in as a CC. I tried that, but it failed, likely because the balance isn't high enough.

So, how can I use this credit for my trip? Thanks in advance...

Is there a UATP option? You should be able to use that.

Another question, does anyone know if you only get double status credits if you pay for the whole trip with a pass?
I know you can use 2 passes for one trip, but you can also split it with a credit card or other payment.

2 scenarios:

1 - The value of the booking is greater than the value of the pass. If this is the case, and you use the whole pass (paying the remainder with CC or other), then you should get the DSC bonus (assuming that was the option you selected when it was given to you).
2 - The value of the booking is less than the remaining value on the pass. Here you will have to pay for the whole booking on the pass - ie, you can't use only part of the pass 10x times to get the DSC bonus on 10x different bookings.

In the event of scenario 2 you should get the DSC for any bookings made with the pass until you run into scenario 1 and it runs out.

Yes, as I said I tried putting the pass number in the credit card field (which then shows UATP as the payment method) but it gave an error. Presumably because it doesn't cover the entire amount? It just says 'Im sorry, we are having problems charging your payment method' or something like that.

If anyone has used a pass for partial payment, I'd love to know how they did it!

I've used a few UATP for partial payment of different bookings and have paid the balance with regular CC during checkout.

From memory, the checkout payment screen shows an option to enter a UATP, at which point it goes off and checks that UATP and shows a balance (I could be wrong on the exact workflow here)

Then it shows the FARE TOTAL - UATP AMOUNT and if applicable a REMAINING BALANCE and asks you how you want to pay the balance, and you fill in the CC details to bring the required payment balance to ZERO.

Thanks for the experience. Maybe there's hope then. I'll try a few other ways to try and get this to go through.

I wasn't able to generate any page which showed the UATP balance or similar, or allowed me to pay partially with UATP when using it as a credit card.

In the end I booked a one-way out of AU which priced in AUD, this gave me the Qantas Pass option. This option does let you use the UATP Qantas pass as a partial payment. It didn't pull up the amount, I had to know that and type it in.

I couldn't do what I aimed to do (a RT from the USA), but I was able to at least use my Pass. QF lost a bit of my business though by not letting me use my Qantas Pass for a flight priced in USD.

Fortunately my recent Canberra to Bangkok should get me DSC’s, whew!

Has anyone had a problem where there Qantas Pass balance had reduced when they have never used it and there is no transaction record if it ever being used?

When first issued, my QP had a balance of approx $A3000 and now it’s $A100. No one I’ve spoken to at Qantas can explain why or tell me who/when the QP was used.

I tried to use it to book a Lon/Perth business class return flight online, ended up phoning Qantas and they (finally) made the booking with the QP and CC for the balance. I assumed they would confirm that the QP value I provided ($A3000) would match what was on their records. That was probably my first mistake.
The CC payment was never processed and my bank said the problem is with Qantas. Consequently my ticket has not been issued. When I go to Manage Booking the booking shows as “still processing”, so I can’t cancel it.

I’ve spoken to Qantas again in 4 occasions and no-one has been able to process the payment. The last call was when I was told the balance was only $A100. That was when I figured out how to access my Qantas Pass account and saw the reduced balance and no transaction record.

I have been phoning the UK Qantas number and the corporate office in Australia. I only have Silver FF membership.
