Qantas Upgrades - Successes or Failures (post results)

Oops, sorry I read it SIN-SYD, but the same logic applies. Both SYD-SIN and SYD-LHR are F9 A9 on that date.

Thanks @sudoer - apologies that was meant to say 31/03 (rather than 30/04) - my bad!

We’re flying SYD-SIN rather than SIN-SYD, assuming that will make little difference though?
QF1 is showing F9 A9 with 3 seats allocated (but maybe more sold).

Again though, still slim chances with no status. Still, you never knowvyour luck.

Success
WP (with PC+)
QF95 MEL-LAX
Z (PE Award) to U (Business) approved ~ T-60.

Flights don't look very busy at all this week. I'm surprised I failed to get a U seat released despite numerous attempts. It would have saved me some points.

Another WP T-20 Y+ upgrade, this time QF75 SYD-YVR

Not bad I guess, given I only booked the flight yesterday, although 1 J seat still appears to be for sale.

Post COVID, that's 0 J and 9 Y+ upgrades to/from North America out of 12 attempts. Typically flying at peak times (start and end of week).

Just in the first 3 months of 2020 it was 4/4 successful J upgrades. How times have changed.

Same here - although only requested it 2 days ago, and technically t-27ish for me. See you in J!

Another WP T-20 Y > Y+ upgrade, this time QF22 DFW-MEL.

10 Y > Y+ North America upgrades out of 13 attempts post COVID.

For peak times a Y+ original booking likely needed to get to J

I have a SYD-DFW return trip coming up in late June, booked economy. I've already submitted points upgrade requests. As SG, do I have much of a chance of success?

What day of week? Better chances mid week.

If you ticked Y+ fallback you might get that.

Not mid week, unfortunately. I did tick Y+/W fallback but I wonder if that is worthwhile? I haven't travelled premium economy before -- is it really any more comfortable than standard Y? (I'm not tall and benefit if there's greater recline, but don't benefit from extra legroom).

I find PE better than Y, particularly in the bulkhead seats. 7 across instead of 9, a little more recline, quieter cabin, better food etc. However no substitute for J :)
