Qantas Upgrades - Successes or Failures (post results)

Re: QF Upgrade Success Rate

Hrm, one SYD-DXB in a couple of weeks is J9 C0. The return DXB-SYD is J4 C0.

I think even as a Platinum 1 I'll go 0 for 2 on this one

Gotta be in it to win it!

What's F like on those flights? There may well be pax in J with points upgrade requests to P that could free up seats.

Re: QF Upgrade Success Rate

MEL-HKG and return no luck on QF29/30 as WP with a +1. Plane was absolutely full both ways though.

Siiiiiiigh.

Had to make do with a shower in the Cabanas at The Wing

Re: QF Upgrade Success Rate

14 days (and hopefully a bit less) and we'll find out if I've been successful with my first upgrade request (Y+ to J) on QF128. I've also thrown my hat in the ring for same upgrade on QF16 back from NYC next September.

Re: QF Upgrade Success Rate

I got the magic SMS last night for 2x Y+ to J on QF 127. As a WP, I was surprised it was so early as it was well outside the 48 hour mark.

Re: QF Upgrade Success Rate

Had to wait until just under T-24 for my 2x Y+ to J to come through on QF1 today. The only one I've missed recently was on a full Friday night QF12 flight where I got a consolation Y to Y+ at the gate

Re: QF Upgrade Success Rate

Tomorrow or Fridays flight Mr Orange? We're Y+ tomorrow, didn't enter the lottery for upgrade for day flight up to HK. I've looked at load for QF128 next Tuesday and not sure we'll be getting that SMS, if I'm reading EF correctly

Friday. Mrs_O has never done international J during the day so I wanted to treat her. I also have requests in for 128 on the way back next week.

Re: QF Upgrade Success Rate

With less than 24 hours to go, the Premium Desk just sorted out 2x Y to J for a domestic leg. Interestingly, this flight was coming up as wait listed when I tried to upgrade online weeks ago but EF showed U3 this morning so I made the call :).

Re: QF Upgrade Success Rate

1/2 on recent trip to LOTFAP (MEL-LAX-MEL) from J --> F

Re: QF Upgrade Success Rate

With my international flying done for the year, I've received upgrades from Y to J on 7/8 Qantas legs (on points), 1/1 Emirates legs (free) and 1/2 BA legs (free).
Pretty happy with that =)

Re: QF Upgrade Success Rate

We're zero from one. No luck on QF128 tonight.

It was never going to happen with the luck we've had with this trip.

Originally we were on QF8, so Y+ down to Sydney from Brisbane and 128 was an A380 that we were looking forward to flying on in Y+. That was all wiped out early on.

One of our bags didn't make it here on Thursday night so it was off to the shops for us as we had functions Friday and Saturday night. The bag arrived early morning Sunday.

Sunday morning I thought I'd see if we'd won the upgrade lottery by checking our seat allocation. Surprised to see the seat map had changed and row 37 no longer existed due to aircraft change. I Facebook messaged QF and the very lovely Leesa responded very quickly and then called me at our hotel. Yes we had seats, they just weren't together. I'd been allocated 29A but my partner wasn't with me :(. We've eventually ended up in 30A/B.

Checked in tonight at Kowloon Station and halfway to the airport realised I'd left my tablet inside the pocket of one of our checked bags. With the luck we've been having it'll be in pieces when we get those bags in Sydney!

We were on he same flight bigpetebrown. We got our J upgrades though. J was chockers and initially we were seated apart with me upstairs and Mrs_O downstairs but the staff in the lounge sorted us out. Equipment change meant Skybed I but we both slept well. I'm still running at 100% success for upgrades.

Apart from the dramas, I hope you enjoyed Hong Kong.

Re: QF Upgrade Success Rate

Loved it Mr_O. We went up for a 50th of a friend. If you noticed The World at Ocean Terminal that's where the birthday dinner party was on Saturday night. After Ozone on Friday night and then Aqua Luna on Sunday arvo! Our friend has an apartment on the ship. We're off to New York next August September to join the ship and have put our hands up for upgrades coming back after the cruise. One day :)

Re: QF Upgrade Success Rate

Y+ to J upgrade for QF127 tomorrow for Mrs mjgriffo and myself, came through at T-23. Fingers crossed for the same on the return.

Re: QF Upgrade Success Rate

No love on QF29 the other day. Y+ to J came through on QF128 though! :)
