Qantas Upgrades - Successes or Failures (post results)

Re: QF Upgrade Success Rate

Upgrades (PE-->J) for 2 came through this morning for QF127. Domestic leg, BNE-SYD, had already been confirmed. Fingers crossed for the same love on QF30 when we come home.

I'm still running at 100% success for requested upgrades, which is pretty darn good.

Re: QF Upgrade Success Rate

Upgrades from Y+ to J on QF7 SYD-DFW for Tuesday for myself & SWMBO have been confirmed at T-60! It will be the first flight with our new(ish) son, and so any extra comforts we hope will help. The better of the two bassinet positions was automatically assigned with upgrade. Now at 92% upgrade success as QF WP.

Cheers,
Matt.

Re: QF Upgrade Success Rate

Put in a classic reward upgrade bid from a red-e-deal MEL-PER 30/9 QF653 ... QC Silver are these normally determined T-24?

If there are classic award seats available at the time of booking you may get a domestic reward upgrade approved straight away. I would assume it would be similar to international where it's around the T-24 hour mark or perhaps up to a handful or so hours earlier

Re: QF Upgrade Success Rate

Two more Y+ to J upgrades on QF30 last night as well as the connecting Dom flight to BNE, but I knew about that ages ago.

100%.............

Re: QF Upgrade Success Rate

2 x J to F on QF1 this Friday came through a week prior.

No reward flights available at time of booking even though according to expertflyer 2 seats are actually booked in J ... I still haven't heard anything and now its T-34... I'd be pretty disappointed if I was knocked back !!

EDIT : Upgrade Confirmed at T-26 ,.. Happy Days!

Re: QF Upgrade Success Rate

I'm 1/1 and that's as a Bronze FF.

QF129 SYD-PVG L-J ... and the J cabin still had at least 4 free seats. I can't go back now.

Luckily, I have RT LHR-BNE booked in J for December and hoping for a J-F upgrade (will be SG by then!). Here's hoping to maintain the 100% strike rate.

And the matching upgrade from Y+ to J for our return on Tuesday's QF8 from DFW-SYD has also been confirmed today at T-60 :)

Re: QF Upgrade Success Rate

Qf1 6/10 Pe to j. To say excited does not come close. It will be my daughters 1st business - domestic or international. Just sp appreciated

Re: QF Upgrade Success Rate

SHMBO and I both got Y+ to J on both QF73 (15 Sep) and QF74 (2 Oct). The upgrades came through at about T-60. She and I are both QF platinums.

Re: QF Upgrade Success Rate

QF9 (11/10/16 MEL to LHR) J to F (T-60) WP allocated 1A

Have only applied once before QF11 Jun14 SYD to LAX J to F and was also successful that time so 100% thus far (touch wood)

Re: QF Upgrade Success Rate

Mr Qantas recently sent me an email offering a (discounted) points upgrade to J Dom BNE/CNS today. As I'm returning in J next week I thought it sounded good. Upon applying, the site said no seats were available! Checking on Expert Flyer there were plenty of J seats, so I was waitlisted and advised today that I'm successful.
Trouble is, QF checkin system is SNAFU today and while its showing me in J, the boarding pass still has me in previous 4A. System now won't let me OLCI and says try at the Airport!!

Re: QF Upgrade Success Rate

Points upgrade QF29 MEL to HKG Y to J 28 Oct at a bit after T-60. Wow. That's nice and early. Before reaching WP my upgrades came no earlier than sometime after T-30, I think.

Refurbished 747 - Upstairs exit row seat. Wonder if I should change to try the nose of the plane (never been in that section of a 747 before), but I may just stick with the exit row. It's a pretty good seat. It's a day time flight.

Oh and it'll be my first visit to the QF FLounge too (first overseas trip since reaching WP). Exciting!

Hoping for an upgrade for QF30 on 31 Oct on the A330.

Upstairs is good, but the nose is pretty cool too and definitely something you should tick off the list, IMO.
