We were on the same flight in the same cabin!

I hadn't realised the schedule when booking, but I dare say the J and F cabins for LHR-SIN were full of (U)HNWIs going to watch the F1 ...

Booked around 0600 yesterday for PER to SYD the same afternoon at 1625 departure.

Requested upgrade straight away and text notification came through around 10am indicating success.

A330.

Booked on the Saturday A330-300 from SYD to BNE -20 hours in the cheapest Economy Class seat (O), requested an upgrade with two seats showing in ExpertFlyer, and received an upgrade at -12 hours overnight. Very chuffed but also very surprised!

You were lucky to be able to do this (likely a IT glitch) as per the terms of the program QF points canonly be used to upgrade on QF services where the ticket was also issued by QF.

Que? I've successfully used QF points to upgrade segments on tickets issued by BA, JL and AY before.

My AA issued ticket has a QF PNR which was referenced on the AA website with my QFF number.
The QFF site was/is happy to deal with the associated QF flight in all respects.

Such a condition isn't currently listed in the Qantas Frequent Flyer Terms.

I have upgraded both domestic and international Qantas marketed and operated lights booked with AA (001- ticket) and BA (125- ticket). Both were LONE4, best was myself and SWMBO SYD-JFK.

Hi Serfty, what do you mean by LONE4 ? im assuming these flights booked with BA and AA were Qantas flights on Qantas metal, and that these appeared on your Qantas account, and you applied for an upgrade with points on your Qantas account. is this correct ?

Been watching and waiting for 8 months

It was quite an eventful journey! All my connecting flights from Melbourne to Sydney kept getting canceled due to the incident on the Malaysian Airlines flight. Qantas canceled my QF75 flight booking and put me on an Air Canada flight the next day!

However, I managed to reach the international transfers area while QF75 was still there (almost 4 hours delayed). I convinced the lady at the desk to rebook me on QF75 and, in doing so, booked me on a Flexi business fare. This allowed me to earn full status points and frequent flyer points for the flight. I was the last person to board the plane, but I made it. Unfortunately, my luggage, including my mountain bike, arrived in Canada five days later.

Poor lady was doing such a good job, it was crazy with all the delays. She had a desk phone on each ear plus her mobile all going at once.
