TN from last night from one of my subscribers:
"2012 Grant Burge "Meschach" Shiraz. Wow, 98 points from Halliday for this tannic, acidic unbalanced juice. Vintage was 3 years before the Accolade takeover but was released 3 years after so I am unsure who finished and bottled the wine. I bought a heap as I got them cheap and was enamoured of the 2010 vintage. Oh well..."

That maybe but I have 2012 in my cellar and it is perfect to me 👍 - in fact I have never had a bad Meshach - and well of course as always if no good back she goes

OT for this thread but finally got agreement to return this rubbish

Certainly not the view of some AFFers amongst others in OT last night - drank perfectly - good thing we don't all like the one girl huh?

Looks like a generic code, not as good as the $75 one, but still a freebie if already purchasing.

*Didn't manage to get the code to stick when trying it out. I suspect these were printed before their website overhaul, which seem to have invalidated all prior codes. So might have to ask them through chat. **Though looking at it again, I might just be blind and can't tell the difference between (O 0 I 1).

I too dislike the new web site layout/operation. I normally look at bonus points deals. Finding such deals is now a lot more difficult. I did manage to find one for 12,000 points for 12 reasonably decent reds for under $300. But I really do not like the default to "use pints".
Agree - the “use points” default option is incredibly presumptuous on their behalf. Same at BP where you have to be careful to cancel the “pay with points” on the card machine.

Sounds like a push from accounting department.
Covid = too many points accrued = increased liabilities = not very pretty financials.
Just cost that liability at the actual out-going cost of filling an otherwise vacant seat (edit.. with someone paying qfa's exorbitant extra fees and charges) And when the auditors question it, get new auditors. KPIs met. Bonuses all round.

I must be the only one spending points on wine in here
Even with the discounts/sales haven't seen anything that works out even at 1c for a point. Can't see myself spending points on wine unless a big deval is pending... which it probably is given all the COVID banking.
