Qantas Wine latest offering

Had the Yering Shiraz Vignier 2007 onboard QF51 Saturday in PE, had to choose between that and a Vasse Felix (cannot remember what version, think it was the classic dry) and have to say I only had one glass of the Vasse (first world problem I know) and went back to the Yering, enjoyed it so much that I could only manage water at the SIN QP while waiting for my connection - yum yum.
Probably Classic Dry Red, but hopefully not the 2011 - too young

Pretty sure your right, just wish I could remember. I have to say QF always seem to have my style of wines onboard, and have introduced me to some new favourite brands overtime including Vasse Felix, something of a nice side benefit to flying often!!

The Mt Langi dozen arrived today, so I did a mix and match with the 5 other half dozens I have. Now I have 6 cases with each containing:

Willunga 2010 100 Pinot Gris
Devils Lair 2007 The Hidden Cave Chardonnay
Yering Station 2007 Shiraz Voigner
Mt Langi 2010 Cliff Edge Shiraz
Seppelt 2007 Moyston Cab Shiraz
Mule 2010 Gateway Shiraz

Some going to clients - one going home with me tonight.

Seems my first 6 bottle case went down well, as message on Friday night:

We have just sampled and finished and loved the YERING 2007 Shiraz Viognier wonderful and our guests tomorrow night will miss out on that one

and Saturday night from their daughter (also a client)

Hey I'm at mums indulging in your wines! Yum

Will have to suggest I buy for them and have shipped to their home :D ;)

We had a bottle of the 2008 Mt Langi Cliff Edge Shiraz on Sat ( with a med rare porterhouse roast ) and it is drinking magnificently. A very good wine and I am sure the other vintages of this wine are just as good

I had a home made pizza on Friday paired with the Seppelt Moyston Cab Sauv. Lots of body and good, but not as good as others I've drunk from Epicure

Has anyone else noticed a delay in points posting?

A purchase that I made on 1st July had normal points post 4 days later, with the 3000 bonus points posting on 17th.

I've made two subsequent purchases on 7th and 13th August and so far no sign of the normal points.

Both of these orders come with bonus points and the final order will trigger the 8000 (48 bottle bonus) but I'm not flapping about the bonus points yet.

Hi all. Anyone know when the new offer usually come out? I had a vague memory it was fortnightly on a Thursday? Just considering some father's day purchases, but wondered if it was worth waiting (and for how long) to see if any new offers (hopefully bonus points) come out in time! Cheers!

what are peoples thoughts on the Riesling they're serving in dom J at the moment?? Mesh - Edens Valley... kinda undecided, wondering if i should hang out to see if it comes on sale

The "secret" and the bargains are usually the wines for which they don't post the names of but give you enough information to work out what they are. The named wines aren't priced too different from Dan Murphy's and other retailers. I, like you, just buy where ever is cheapest and/or has the best incentive.

The last "black market" deal (just a fancy name they use) is a pretty good bargain if my guess is correct. I think it is the Carnival of Love 2010 from MollyDooker which sells for a lot more than the $29/bottle vinomofo was asking (the cheapest I found for this was ~$66 direct from producer). I ordered a case from vinomofo so I can confirm when it arrives later in the week XD

Oh yeah, I'd also be grateful for anyone that wants to fund my wine habit with a vinomofo referral!

/edit: case arrived today and I can confirm it is The MollyDooker Carnival of Love 2010 :D
way better deal than anything in epicure IMO, I got in on this too! Thanks to the redbigot site for the heads up.

Also google winedirect, some great deals for really good VFM wine and 5x points on Amex. I know we love our points but are we really prepared to pay 20-50% over the odds for it?

Sampled the Shadowfax on my BNE/MEL flight yesterday. Drinkable but not my favourite. Then had the Wirra Wirra on my MEL/PER which was much better. *hic*

Usually every week on a Thursday.

It turns out that patience is a virtue or mentioning something on AFF triggers actions, as all points, including all bonuses, posted today :).

One of my earlier Epiqure purchases was a vertical of this, I think 2005,2006 and 2007. All were very nice drops.

13k points showed up today :D

8k bonus, 2x 1k bonuses and the rest from CC points :):)

And the Squealing Pig sav blanc is going down a treat with my risotto!

I'm not sure SWMBO appreciates the efforts I put in when it comes to maximising her point balance.....hopefully, this will help:D
