By far my favorite part of the day was the 707 tour. To see and hear the history of that 1st 707 was eye opening, and the lengths they went to find it, restore it, and bring it back to LRE, was awesome.
Certainly something that I would recommend to do if you're a QF loyalist.
I agree with you there. That plane (without spoiling) had a fair amount of famous travellers onboard.
Shame you can't take pics on board, but it's built into the sale contract from the previous owners. Our guide said he didn't know when it expires but when it does they'll be able to allow photos onboard and plan to restore it again to fly around a bit.
The DVD/video that you can buy, but also watch at the museum, was really good. Great to just sit back and hear the story.

I tried to get a photo this evening (they shine a light on the tail) but both my cameras weren't advanced enough to allow for a longer exposure.
To stand next to this giant though, at night, lit up like it is, is surreal. It's a wonderful experience.
