PER-BNE-GLT for $157? Is that some kind of mistake?

I'd book it, but I'd have to get to PER. Looks to be only one direction, and from the 5th June it's available on a lot of days.

In the current sale I've got:

BNE-BDB-BNE
BNE-RMA-CTL-BNE

Looking forward to exploring more of the outback.

Hard to tell. That's what it is listed as on the Perth specials page, and a quick look found a bunch of fares available for $162 during June.

Whens the next QF domestic sale? I'm hoping to get a cheap QF MEL-SYD ticket June 10. Currently at $105 each way (not many morning tickets MEL-SYD available but plenty in the evening on the return)

There is a sale on now, and $105 is the sale price for that date. The $99 fares kick in for the period from Jul 17. It's probably a tough call on whether June 10 will be any cheaper during the next sale, but I'd be going for the $105 fare.

Funny how much fares have jumped up in the last few years. I remember when I first started commuting in 2008... SYD-BNE vv was either $59 or $69 when on sale. Now, it rarely gets below $100.

I have a similar recollection.

When I first started commuting in July 2008 airfares were $128 and the specials were $95. Then they went down to the point where normal aifares were $95 and specials were $65 and $69.

And slowly they have crept up and up to the point where they are now $133 and specials are $99. At the same time I am also seeing more flights with no cheap airfares available at any point in time and leaving me with very limited choice of flights. Usually the last flights of the night.

Not sure that is good business sense for a company that is not doing well with forward bookings.

That was in the days before fuel fines, cc surcharges and carbon tax.

My first FTer type meet was at SYD QP in November '04, where I was flying MEL-SYD Rt on QF for $115 all up (booked in June)

Posted on a wing and a prayer ...

looks like QF just tacked on another 3 days to the current 'sale' - ends 6 July now

I need SYD-BNE week 4 of Jan. Maybe next Sale?

I am afraid you may not have a lot of luck in that case as you travel date is during the peak Christmas/New Year period and traditionally QF (and others) don't have sale fares during that period.

Week 4 of January?

That adjuncts Oz day one of the 'informal'/formal long weekends of the year ... Monday 28th next year.

Actually, sales do come up for January, but usually exclude the "edge " of school holidays. But Jan 2 to Jan 18 or thereabouts isnt uncommon for sale prices.

Between Dec 17 and Jan 1 and between Jan 20 and Feb 5th is uncommon (people going / returning from hols).

4th week of Jan might be difficult. Week 3 maybe ok.

I agree, if you look back at the specials here its quite common for mid Jan dates to come up late in the year:

These are tough times.

Qantas recently had a sale for the December period and BNE-SYD on the 21//12/2012 was $89. I am kicking myself for not booking it as that airfare is now $133+....

Stop kicking yourself and go book it today, it's $99, QF have a sale running through the holidays from Dec to March that started this morning. Kind of ironic that a conversation about sales during holidays starts just before a very sale that covers Xmas New Year!

Quite a few routes going cheap from 19th December to March. Sale ends on July 11th.

Agree. SYDMEL $99 for and adult and <$70 for a child for an all inclusive fare with checked baggage is awesome..off to visit nanna for the holidays I think
