Re: Qantas domestic business class sale on now

Well I won't.

Who can plan that far ahead, when you lead a busy and hectic life? QF/DJ are having a joke aren't they. Makes them look as if they're doing something worthwhile when they're not really. A return to the good old days of the two airline policy?

Whatever will they do (or not do) next?

Tehy get your money so far in advance they can afford to cut the prices....

I've been thinking a pre/post do to the southwest/Margaret River area could be a worthwhile exercise......

Numerous others have been thinking in the same vein, but I doubt anything will be confirmed early enough

If I didn't love my wine so much I would book now.

  • Time value of money;
  • Cash flow is king;

Straight out of a 101 course in business school.

I would be interested to know what the average number of bookings changed or forfeited is from on these sales (e.g. ~9 months out) compared with (1) the overall average and (2) other sales.

Freudian slip :p:shock::p

Original post has been amended. See you tomorrow ;)

I will book a flight from melb to Bangkok tomorrow, then again 6 I reckon it will be. Got my wedding in Thailand do this is great for my guest that know their dates already

Will you be forward booking for next year?
Too risky for now and the cash flow is a slight problem.

I am trying to book airfares for Easter and January as well but I am having issues with redeeming the vouchers! :shock: Again! The $79 airfares look good but I am prepared to wait until the end of the year and pay $85-$95.

And yet another sale - BNE - SYD $79, includes the usual $65 QF link specials as well.

Interesting situation with ADL-SYD. Yesterday DJ was at $129 with QF @$150 in November. Today the new QF sale comes out with $129 in November. This afternoon DJ is @$109. Price war? Hope QF follows tomorrow.

That is the price war - the DJ fare does not include luggage, drinks nor, god forbid, a "snack/meal".

It does include luggage for me ;) that I don't use. Coffee/tea/bonox is included these days as well. Maybe even a beer if lucky. Meals on ADL-SYD :confused: Why? :rolleyes:

Sent from the Throne

I'm conditioned to meals on a plane.

An hour in to almost every flight I'm looking for at least a snack!!

I used to be the same. Now that I do a lot of intra-Euro travel, I've grown out of it! ;)

Something small suits me fine, I'm not after a full meal, just a snack of sorts :)

The twix + juice given out on airBerlin was perfectly timed! coughtail mix given out on BA was also good.

Depends on the time of flights. Departing after 7:00pm often means I do not get into BNE or SYD until very late and knowing that I will get some dinner onboard (without having to pay extra) is comforting.

Another domestic red e-deal sale for two sets of dates: 14-Oct to 14-Dec 2012, 9-Jan to 28-Mar 2013.

Fares on sale until 24 September 2012.
