Qantas domestic business class sale on now

For travel commencing 22 September through to March 2013. The usual booking fees apply, sorry no points plus pay.

Re: Qantas domestic business class sale on now

Seems like they must be losing pax to DJ

Re: Qantas domestic business class sale on now

Interesting. My Organisations travel policy is strictly economy for travel under 6hrs, which is pretty much any domestic travel. So this sale offers no benefit to us. I assume mos tother "corporate" policies are similarly inflexible to short sales - so who is QF targetting?

Why do you say no point plus pay? The email I received about this offer had no mention of points plus pay being applicable or not. I just started a dummy booking for a sale fare the points plus pay option came up and it seemed to work as expected.

Although points plus pay is usually poor value for points. An any seat award is usually better value.

There a Qantas Advtised Business Class sale on until Sunday 15th:

Qantas flight deals | Flight specials from Sydney to destinations around Australia

e.g. One way SYD/PER is $1.1k rather than the $1.6k that shows as the normal fare.

There's a war going on right now.

QF and DJ have upped capacity to a point where there is a fair oversupply of seats on all but the most popular routes at the most popular times.

Expect some good deals in the near future.

However, in a classic two-player scenario, expect both airlines to reach equilibrium at some point, and once again settle into a cosy relationship. That's why the mythical third-airline is important. We may never actually want to fly TT ourselves, but I'd much rather they prosper than JQ.

Leisure travellers?

Re: Qantas domestic business class sale on now

very rare! been monitoring the domestic fares for a while and it seemed qantas sale fares never seem to be below $199 between perth-melb/syd, so this is a new low, midn you virgin are mathing the sale with $129 flights, sales end same day aug 3rd. tempted to pick up some cheap flights for the melb GP in march

Re: Qantas domestic business class sale on now

Good prices in there for next year SYD-PER $159

V. tempting... But the real question is do I want to extend OzFest on either side or just do the 'core' weekend... Hmmm

Re: Qantas domestic business class sale on now

Some really good airfares and the specials are there during Easter and school holidays.

I've been thinking a pre/post do to the southwest/Margaret River area could be a worthwhile exercise......

Will you be forward booking for next year?

Re: Qantas domestic business class sale on now

Well I won't.

Who can plan that far ahead, when you lead a busy and hectic life? QF/DJ are having a joke aren't they. Makes them look as if they're doing something worthwhile when they're not really. A return to the good old days of the two airline policy?

Whatever will they do (or not do) next?

Re: Qantas domestic business class sale on now

I don't claim to fly domestically a great deal. I can handle three months in advance but 6 to 9 is just too far.

Why domestic wandering is expensive.

When you have a regular gig it's easy to book that far in advance. What's hard is spending the change fees when meeting dates are set at the start of the year, or when family things come up. On the whole you probably save money but still.
