Qatar Airways Delays/Cancellations

QR900, the Thursday 26 September 0230 hours DOH down to PER (A388 A7-APG) took off at 0556 hours so arrival at 2135 hours mid evening will be exactly three hours behind schedule. The aircraft previously operated QR4 from LHR to DOH that arrived its Doha gate at 0130 hours, 100 minutes tardy, explaining some of the delay to the flight for Perth.

This will inevitably delay QR901, the scheduled 2245 hours back to DOH to at least a 2330 hours chocks/blocks off. If connections are really tight in Doha, some passengers may be rebooked.

QR is in the news today regarding taking a 25 per cent stake in USA-majority owned VA.

However of more immediacy is QR988 (B773ER A7-BEP, the 0305 hours DOH-MEL airborne at 0459. Arrival at gate tonight should be 0111 hours on Wednesday 2, 101 minutes behind the timetable that calls for 2330 hours at gate.

On Thursday 3 October, QR900 (0230 hours DOH down to PER, A380 A7-API) was in the sky at 0339. Gate arrival becomes 1923 hours, 48 late.

Thursday 3 October's 2020 hours DOH down to ADL (QR914, A359 A7-AMK) took off at 2047, pretty much on time. Arrival must be affected by adverse winds as it's to be at gate at 1616 hours, 46 minutes behind schedule.

Sunday 6 October 2024 has seen QR988, the 0305 hours DOH-MEL airborne at 0353 with B773ER A7-BEK. Arrival should be at 010 hours on Monday 7, 31 minutes tardy.

On Sunday 6 October, QR914, the scheduled 2020 hours from DOH down to ADL took off at 2126 hours. A359 A7-AMJ should arrive at about 1750 hours, 80 minutes late.

QR915 returning to Doha isn't timetabled to depart until 2140 so in theory the return flight should be punctual.

QR014 on Saturday 12 October is the 2020 hours DOH-ADL with A359 A7-ALZ. It was airborne at 2049. On Sunday 13, gate arrival should be 1731 hours, 61 minutes behind its schedule.

Due to the storms in SYD tonight, the incoming QR908 has diverted to BNE. Needless to say the outbound QR909 will be severely delayed.

Reports that A7-APC (DOH-BNE) is staying in BNE for engineering checks because of a suspected lightning strike while attempting to lane in SYD. Being towed shortly

Looking at FlightAware, it was all lined up for 34L and then aborted the landing.

Guess the QR908 pax will be put on VA services, QR's besty in Oz !

A little late with this but QR909 SYD-DOH on 31/10/24 was cancelled after their inbound flight diverted back to DOH mid flight. A new flight was organized 2 days later to fly cancelled pax from SYD-DOH which meant I would’ve missed my flight to JFK from DOH and onwards from JFK (separate booking)

Provided hotel accommodation at Qatar check in and told to message them on WhatsApp to organise a new flight. Once at the airport hotel, received a message that they had found me a seat on SYD-SFO-JFK that evening with QF/AA. Managed to make check in a few minutes before it closed and ended up getting into JFK 9 hours early. Funny thing was that I had booked BNE-SYD-DOH-JFK with Velocity points and trying to check in with Qantas was difficult as they had the ticket showing as VA. Back and forth with QR both on WhatsApp and at the check in desk eventually resolved it.

Ended up flying QF/AA on a full revenue J ticket using velocity points and earned 200 SC and 20k points. Silly me forgot to activate double SC though.

Anyway, not really sure if this story belongs here but it was a cancelled QR flight and their service on re-booking me was pretty awesome so thought I’d share it.
