Qatar Airways status match to Virgin Australia

I would say no in your case. You need to find award space that doesn’t have the green box which is 2x miles
If you look at my dummy booking above you will see the difference
The top one has availability so can be upgraded, whereas you will notice on the second one it says 2x QMiles and this can not be upgraded.

Yup I had a sneaking suspicion that 2x Qmiles wasn't a good sign. Thanks for the info, at least now I know what I need to find haha

Does anyone know if the reduced Platinum requal (300 Qpoints I think) has carried over
I've had a popup on my account a couple of times saying so but never managed to screenshot or find concrete evidence. Will probably be beyond me in any case (looks like about 170 Qpoints for Au-Eu return in Business Saver)

I don’t think so.
Pretty sure they just extended everyone a extra year and that’s it.
I’ve ran the ruler over it and their program just doesn’t stack up for me to try and maintain status. No earn on QF domestic is a deal breaker for me

I'm planning on doing a QF reward flight on Qatar this year so I'm happy to have Platinum but can't see that it will be useful apart from that

Caught it this time but wont be testing it

I've just logged into my Qatar dashboard and noticed that I've lost my Qcredits from the platinum status match :(

I think they went at the end of June - I rang and asked if I could get them back and they said no

Does anyone know if you are flying internationally with Qantas and use your Qatar member number on the booking do you get access to the first lounge if you have Qatar platinum?

I would also be interested to know this as I’ve got two upcoming flights from Sydney one to Jakarta the other to North America in the next few months…? Can I access the lounge on the back of having Qatar platinum status without affecting my status credits going to QF

QF F lounge should be no problem as long as you show your QR virtual card and the lounge is open.

There were issues pre Covid of travellers not being allowed access reported on this site.

I posted a few years back as this should not be a problem. I have flown on JL booked flights on JL/ CX metal and credited to QF and not have lounge access issues. There is no OW lounge in CGK and depending on the carrier you should get access to some lounge based on class of travel. Out of North America the LAX is operated by QF but is essential a OW lounge.

The only thing I would advise is to ensure you have that your QR virtual card has been updated and has an expiry date post your travel date.

@Harthagan it may also beneficial to bookmark the OW rules on your phone so you can bring them up if you run into issues.

My recollection was of QF bending things to their advantage not letting One World Sapphires and non-QF OW J into the F lounge when the QF J lounge was closed.
They shouldn't have been able to refuse access to a One World Emerald (if they are open)

Have done this multiple times this year without ever getting denied access. Walked in and said "Oneworld emerald" and shown my Qatar card. BP still crediting to QF for points/status credits
