Was a nice email to wake up to. I’ve got my first flight of 2022 booked for the 15th Jan assuming it goes ahead given the situation in NSW but didn’t book with Qatar as I wasn’t sure what would happen to status extensions. Will make every effort to take advantage of this for the coming year!

Good news for those who got the match but people have already started making plans & bookings for next year. So many aspects of the way Qatar has run this promo have been questionable, right from the start.

I'm very happy. I've no intention of crediting to QR but could be useful for lounges/baggage. My travels mean requalifying for QR is not worthwhile but nice to have the status while crediting to QF or BA which are easier. VA and SQ are the losers for me in this as I'm less inclined to fly revenue with them
