But putting my cynical hat on, 353 days from 4 May 2016 would encompass Easter returns...:)

yes yes, but the promo started out April 28, and at that date April 16, 2017 was the latest one could book till.

anyway enjoy the cynical hat... does it have flowers on it? :)

Correct. There is anecdotal evidence that one could get QFF to manually credit if you can prove the FLIGHTS were booked during this promo period but it's not set in stone, and RR's answer earlier seems to confirm this.

Cheers for that. Decided to keep it as an EK flight instead. My nerves are already on edge as I've given QF 3 TT flights as a result of the promo and considering 1 other trip. I'm pretty sure it's going to happen but dates aren't firmed up but the travel will be in the promo period still so.... might just book and adjust later when the dates are firm.

Only dead flowers.

Really? What gives you that impression? It would have been much easier if Qantas had given everyone Gold status.

Not at all. I've suggested to SWMBO that the family do a trans-tasman trip to get them to Gold. Her reply:

1. What will that achieve? Hello gold!
2. How much? $8000
3. So you're going to waste $8000 for NOTHING! Waste $8000 for something that is completely pointless. etc.

Based on the etc. part of point 3 I have a slight feeling, in my waters, that SWMBO would still see Gold as nothing if Qantas gifted it.

Well it would have been nice if they had comped me yesterday after having to cancel the flight in March that would have got me there through my own money.

Have booked another couple of flights today but that is all for this small business. Lifetime Silver says I'll never be Bronze again, so have booked an ADL/BNE and BNE/CBR/BNE (pushed out dates but easy to change). The VA promo code means more to me at present...(Flexi for Saver fares). So I'll end up with 85 SC's from the bookings made in the booking window.

So it appears that while there is still several hours left to book, one can no longer register. It isn't on the website that I can see and the email link no longer takes me to that page. A glitch in the system? I can't see any deadline to register, just that bookings have to be made by 11.59pm tonight (AEST).

Can someone clarify this statement for me:
Only one double Status Credits offer can be used per individual qualifying segment of your itinerary. However, double Status Credits may be earned on multiple eligible flight bookings if you book and travel within the promotional dates as listed above. If you qualify for multiple offers, the offer first-registered for will be applied to each individual qualifying segment.
I am booking a flight: MEL-SYD-CHC return in J and would think you'd earn 2xSC on MEL-SYD and SYD-CHC individually and not on one segment only i.e. either the MEL-SYD or SYD-CHC.

I think this is basically saying that for each flight segment the double status credits offer can only be applied once. So if the normal status credits you would get for a segment are say 40 then the max including all bonuses you can get for that segment is 80. You can't somehow get quadruple what you normally get for a segment.

If you've registered for multiple offers, the first one you registered for that is applicable to the flight segment is the one that will apply. The booking creation date must be within the time frame the offer states it must be in, and the flights must take place during the time range that the offer says they must for the offer to be applicable.

Here's my take on it:

Only one offer can be used per flight segment. Not 2 or more offers, if you ever receive that many.

Any number of flight segments, as long as it's within the offer period.

You will be okay.

Edit: mviy, beat me to it, but yes, pretty much as above

Thanks mviy and DC3. I've only signed up to this offer so I should be good with that. I've also used the calculator on the sign up page and it is showing that a return J MEL-SYD-CHC will earn me 480 SC. I'm comfortable in locking that flight in. Thanks once again.

Any Kiwi's who want to holiday in Hamilton Island can get some great value from this offer.

AKL-SYD-HTI earns 140SC (doubled to 280SC) currently available for NZD$807 (approx AUD$747) or $2.67 per SC
HTI-MEL-AKL earns 140SC (doubled to 280SC) currently available for AUD$820 or $2.93 per SC

So all up 560SC for about AUD$1567 - or $2.79 per SC, not a bad deal at all so close to home!

Ding, ding ding - We have a winner for the usual question raised in the Facebook group.

MEL-SYD = 1 individual qualifying segment
SYD-CHC = 1 individual qualifying segment

You have 2 individual qualifying segment on your itinerary.

Only one double Status Credits offer can be used per individual qualifying segment of your itinerary.

With 2 individual qualifying segments you can use the one offer twice - Once on each segment

Umm, I went a bit over board. $4000 and 23 flight booked. Resisting the temptation to book the remaining 21 flights required in 2016. Stopped by one voucher "still being processed" and hence inaccessible. I almost broke the voucher system, goes without saying that I always use gift vouchers, when booking that many flights that's $161 saved in card fees.

I ended up booking a trip to NZ for later in the year. The sale fares during this double SC promo have been few and far between, but I was reasonably happy with SYD-AKL-SYD for just under $400.

This will pick me up 80 SC and is a trip I was planning to do at some point anyway (although I probably would not have booked on Jetconnect if not for this offer). I now have enough travel booked to easily retain gold status for another year.

You must surely be getting close to Platinum One? ;)

 On domestic red-e-deals on the lowest earning distance? - No thanks.

I did really want to lock in enough for Partner gold next year, but I haven't had time to think for the last week. Busy in the middle of bidding for the professional equivalent of the Olympics (maybe the special olympics) AFF has been a welcome distraction.

That's good value for trans-Tasman fares, I reckon sales have held back till this promo ends and I expect there will be a sale of some sort tomorrow. I ended up booking an NZ trip next year which is outside of the current sale dates but would suit me better timewise, and with the necessary regional flights added on felt it was reasonable.
