Totally understand your feelings about this Matt_01 - but tbh I felt it was very clear back in November when the latest stats support arrangement was announced that it was for bookings from then till anniversary date, not the whole year (since they wanted NEW bookings obviously). I'm actually surprised DSC roll over but that's a nice bonus there. Sure, makes regaining P1 nigh on impossible for most given lack of international and all so I get the "why bother?" factor. At least you have your status for the extra year, so those soft landings will be in 2022 and who knows what could happen between now and then - specially as it looks more and more unlikely any seriously larger ability to travel int won't be happening before the end of the year so I suspect this is not the end.

But you're right - status doesn't rule everything, and what's the point without the travel anyway? As you do fly a lot you would regain in no time when things get back to some sort of normal (if that is still your goal of course - you may well shift elsewhere) and until then WP is more than handy for most things.

I'm certainly only looking to roll over <500 SC assuming I do fly what i have booked by my anniversary date. I am OK with that. Unlikely in my 2022 membership year I will get to the required amount as things currently stand, but I do think, as the past has shown, this is not the end of "status support" given the ongoing uncertainties.

We'll all see, and we all need to play the game the way that works best for us :)

Me.. I just want to get on a plane and go somewhere that is not within a few km's of my home. That's my first goal. The rest will come in due course and whatever happens will happen.
@RichardMEL I have never been known to articulate my opinions accurately and often fire from the hip, we are also both P1s.

To address your comment "but tbh I felt it was very clear back in November when the latest stats support arrangement was announced that it was for bookings from then till anniversary date, not the whole year (since they wanted NEW bookings obviously)." This is the bit I misunderstood I thought I was getting the 1800SC + rollover. My roll over date is at the end of Jul, I was grounded in mid Mar 20 (already retained P1) and did not take another flight until some time in late Nov early Dec to go to the AFF annual gathering. From memory I had a flight booked however when QF announced in Nov 20 the 1 flight deal I cancelled and rebooked, job done I am quite confident my status will be extended but need to wait a few more months to confirm.

The 500 now 400 odd SC I mention as rollover includes future bookings through to the end of Jul 21, who knows if these will happen suspect the roll over tally may reduce further. You are 100% correct me if I am wrong you posted somewhere else on this site that you could not believe how generous the 1 flight offer was especially for P1s, I am of the same opinion. The 'why bother' factor has only materialised over the past week or so after realising I misunderstood the Nov QF comms.

We would also like to jump on a plane and go somewhere (international) I posted in another thread we have made speculative points bookings for 2022. Will these happen, who knows, however in the words of Thomas Jefferson "I like the dreams of the future better than the history of the past."

For some reason, I've only just received my e-ticket this afternoon (and my credit card charged) even though I made the booking during the DSC period (and it was already showing on my app) so I hope there won't be issues with the DSC crediting...

But your PNR was created at time of booking right

Perhaps there was a change to your flights, and you just never received the original e-ticket?

When the payment is processed is almost certainly not going to be an issue for your booking made during the DSC period. As long as the PNR was created that's what counts in my view. I would not worry too much :)

It doesn't look like there are any changes but the balance (after gift voucher) has now been charged to my credit card finally. Too bad it's still within the same statement period...

Double status credits have just posted around 24 hours after my flight...

PNR create date is all that matters. Receiving the e-ticket via email is secondary.

I wonder if flights to NZ would be eligible for DSC... even though the offer was domestic only... Hmmm...

@aus_flyer your thinking is not to far from my own. After realising I miss read the QF rollover vrs status keeper rules I have already combined all of of my DSC flights into a QF codeshare with EK (F) on EK metal so this will not count. If my original QF outbound flight (QF metal) is changed and I will play the involuntary change card and then rebook using a changed DSC flight to see what happens. QF systems are not that smart and I always like to test what I can get away with.

I am becoming concerned about my DSC bookings from PER to OOL via MEL on June 22 in J. This was my “peace of mind” trip to earn enough SC for WP renewal. 😂 The way things are going, I’m not sure the borders with Victoria will be unilaterally open by then and I do NOT intend to quarantine at home yet again just for an airport transit. I’ll wait a bit longer then ring to find out options to retain the DSC, or just cancel. Perhaps just wait and hope we Jan/Feb anniversaries are also given the option of take one flight to renew.

If the border is still closed closer to the date just get them to fly you via SYD (or even direct to BNE) and apply for original routing credit if necessary.
