Some of us hope to experience MEL F lounge coming back from Oz Fest. For me that is on the Sunday morning.

I'll be going to Manila from Sydney on May 22nd. Bah.
I think you need to "pull a hammy" on the 22nd, causing a one day delay :D .

Considering it is Mrs_Gimlet's holiday, far worse things than a hammy would be pulled if it was delayed.

Ouch  . Maybe next trip you can sample the new lounge.

Shano just beat me to it.. I jut posted this in the Lounges forum.

But they look great.. no wonder it has taken so long... They were waiting on the plants to grow.

Cheers

Some interesting comments attached to the story (including some very mis-informed comments too!)

Hmmm. I'm glad IainF sorted them out (assuming the same IainF!)

I do have a problem with the whingers ..."I cant get an award seat" & "I cant get into a lounge"....

Knowledge is power....and a nice seat

Yes, IainF's comment was an oasis of reason in a desert of irrelevance. (I was going to say "in a sea of irrelevance", but I'm sure no-one would have believed that the mixed metaphor was deliberate.:) )

Sheesh - what a bunch of buffoons. No idea about lounge acces, no idea about what its like to travel a lot and no idea about much else.

Question: Why do you want a full meal before flying as they feed you too much on the aircraft?

Answer: Well if you have an evening flight you can get on board and skip the food and go straight to sleep...

I am just traumatised that this wont open early so I will have to wait until my first flight as an EXP out of Oz :( I am actually in paid F on QF next week :(

Last month someone posted a May 10th Date; I'm through SYD on 11th

Now the 23rd; :(

I'll now need to wait until the June 8 when I'm off to HNL ... :D

Yeah, I have confirmed SYD-SIN (was BKK) in J on the 23rd, and I am hoping, but realistic about the new lounge being available. If not I will have to wait until 3rd July when I get to fly for leisure to ZQN.

I assume that people will try and get further confirmation as 23 May gets closer - say on the 11th when someone goes through SYD - they could bang on the doors/windows to see if they will open early for me...

Has anyone any idea how the kerbside concierge will work?

My first FIRST out of SYD will be on the 3rd of July.. (SYD-BKK-SYD on BA)But may try and route a Domestic through SYD International before then just for the hell of it....:D

Now where's that schedule of DOM flights via INT...?
