I was under the impression that the only thing non QF F passengers miss out on is the porter service. And possibly less priority when it comes to booking spa treatments?Febs said:Apologies if I missed it before, but were you there as an F passenger, or a OW Emerald?
Could it be that they're planning on providing the meals free to F passengers only, and others have to pay?
..and on that note, what about the spa? I read that all the treatments (massages and whatnot) are free, but is that for everyone within the lounge, or just F passengers?

Probably nothing sinister, but I suspect it would detract from, rather than enhance, the experience (no matter what the reason).

It makes sense for meals, so they can determine how long before boarding and ensure the meal can be served in plenty of time. This doesn't seem relevant for drinks though.straitman said:One could always ask the reason for wanting to see the BP.
I don't think you can purchase an F seat for domestic travel.kpc said:For those of us who are not QF WP, can you buy or redeem a F seat on QF 74/73 bet Syd and Mel, to access the lounge?
Yes, but don't do this before boarding. Some international airports in Oz have BP readers that have the annoying habit of chopping the stub off when the BP is put through them.JohnK said:... Was the advice given to tear off the stub of the boarding pass, if you want the boarding pass as a souvenir, before arrivals?
An alternative, is to change your seat allocation in the lounge. You will be given a new Boarding Pass, i.e. with new seat number on it, but they won't take your old BP from you (as it has the D sticker/immigration stamp on it). Then you simply surrender the "immigration" BP at your destination, and keep the other BP as your souvenir!JohnK said:...if you want the boarding pass as a souvenir...

Still need to check a couple of things first, but Sunday June 24th is a possibilty at the moment. $239 for a return fare or award seats are available at 16000 points and about $80 in taxes.JohnK said:I don't think you can purchase an F seat for domestic travel.
As we discussed at Ozfest recently if you are interested in a QF74/73 F lounge run on a Sunday in the next 6-7 weeks then PM me your available dates.
It would have been better to let you know what Sundays I am available.kpc said:Still need to check a couple of things first, but Sunday June 24th is a possibilty at the moment.

I have been in the MEL FLounge for almost 2 hours now and apart from the front desk I have not been asked for my BP or flight details yet. And that includes several drinks and dinner at in the "restaurant".Mal said:An F pax could always stick their boarding pass on their forehead... It would solve two problems - firstly to show how uber important they are, and secondly dispose of those "pesky" questions to see their boarding pass
