Yep, crashed twice whilst booking the Sydney flight, then tried Canberra and got to the payment page and then that crashed too. Had that same generic error screen each time.

Sydney must have sold out within seconds, and Canberra sold out within minutes.

Really frustrating to miss out, especially after getting so close. Wish QF put on a couple more flights to meet demand...
In exactly the same boat as you! It makes me feel a bit better - I’m so sorry you missed out.

Sounds like a plan, as I missed out as well. I don't work Fridays anyway, so I can get out to the airport and at least take a few photos. Pity the airport bars are shut - although security should let me through with an esky - special "medical" supplies.

Agreed - covert gate side champers!!?

Hellz yeah - Am based in SYD & would 100% do it! I’m new to AFF & only just getting the hang of it but if there’s a way you can message me provided QF would let you I could TF funds today!

It was for the Canberra flight - I got a J seat.
Very very limited numbers - all of upstairs, all of the nose section and part of the main J cabin was blocked from sale.
Only 4 J seats left by the time I got in at 12:02.

Jealous!

Suspect you'll see a few pollies on that one!

Wow, that was quick - all sold out already!

I didn't book a seat, but being based in CBR I might head out to the airport next Friday. Any AFFers on the flight are welcome to say hi :)
I will be in Canberra to see the flights. Will say hi if I see you.....now to avoid being late.

I just started a new thread called ‘Qantas 747 joy flight out of Canberra”
so those of us on that flight can chat out of this thread.

How many here are on CBR?
Perhaps a separate thread for each city for meet ups?
Done - see Qantas 747 joy flight out of Canberra thread.

Nope. I am Gold, but I was not logged in during the booking process so status was not a factor.

And I moved it to Aviation Enthusiast Discussion Meetings & Social Events and added a calendar entry for easier access. Have done the same for Brisbane and Sydney.

How wonderful to be able to see an AFF gathering again! Remember for those of us who could not get to the cities, or unable to secure a seat, we need lots of vicarious experiences.

I was only able to get a seat because of the advice in this thread and I wanted to thank all the contributors for the help. Does anyone know when the plane will arrive in Canberra before the main flight. I would love to be at the end of the runway as it goes overhead?
