Are MASA still able to be booked ? Irrespective of no SC earn...

If so, do they still earn ff points?

Furthermore, is this a better option than points+pay?

Answers in order: No, no and depends but see answer 1.

Mine also posted as zero. Called QF after a few days and was told these type of flights must be corrected manually. So, my take is that one needs to call up and have the correction done manually in retrospect (there was no mention of having any form of automation).

My flights of last week on the forward leg of my final JASA were adjusted today without a phone call:)

Had a JASA MEL -BNE return over the weekend.

Had to call up - staff member I spoke to tried to tell me that it was booked in a class that didn't earn points/sc!
I insisted that yes it does, and got the usual - i will check with a supervisor and get back to you with a phone call later if we can't do a manual adjustment.
1 day later - manual adjustment shows up on activity statement with both correct points and sc's.

Interested to know if moving forward is it just the old MASA's that are having this problem, or are the regular ASA's booked post 1st July also having this problem?
(might not get an answer to this one , as who is now going to book an ASA at those ridiculous points costs.)

I have a FASA MEL-LHR coming up in a few weeks that I booked 10 months ago, expecting I will have to call up and get this one manually added as well.
The new s/c earn rate is actually higher on this booking, so interested to see just how many s/c's they decide to give me. (was 360, now 420)

Wife called up yesterday for missing MASA points/SC's after no reply to email to the FF service centre, the guy on the phone first had to check if the flights were eligible after saying they were not, then said they are 'automatically' crediting through a workaround process, but can take up to 4 weeks.
He would not do a manual adjustment despite us insisting on it. Not happy that we have to wait up to 4 weeks to get the points/SC's we are entitled to.

There is the HUACA method that may bear more fruits.

Ive had success twice by simply shooting off an email to the frequentflyer email address with the info of the flight and that it should have been credited x points/sc. Within 2-3 days each time the account has been sorted. Much easier than sitting on the phone for ages.

ASA booked post 30 June book into an earning fare class and will not have this problem.

Ring the regular number and it should be able to be fixed up pretty quickly.

I have a feeling that a lot of the AFF community MASA's booked in the dying days are going to post incorrectly.

Thanks Princess Fiona. I haven't yet phoned QF but I check my FF account online today and QF have post dated the status credits and FF points. They might be doing this for everyone.

Had this same issue myself a few days ago, BNE-MOV. Posted 0 points and 0 SC's.

I'm also of the opinion this may be a tactic to reduce their points and SC liability and will post to those who can be bothered to chase them.

There must be some workaround in place. I flew BNE-LAX on a MASA last Saturday. Posted as a CLASSIC award and I feared the worst (i.e. that it had been booked incorrectly). I Didn't contact QF (was waiting until I got back) but points and SCs posted a few days later as an adjustment. So I'd suggest people just give it a few days before calling...the sky isn't falling.

My issue was fixed after a phone call. Appears 0 points and SC was due to a mix up when I changed a return leg home.

There goes my conspiracy theory

Ours posted as zero then "self adjusted" a day or 2 later but I think at the new rate. Will have to check when eventually get home. I hope this old rate, new rate won't cause problems but I just get this feeling......

Under the post 1st July world, what is U class classed as Business or Flexible Business?
It wasn't clear looking at the earning table.

My first JASAs flown since 'Simplification Day' have not posted at all period. Outbound was Friday and return was yesterday, so I can understand Sunday's flight not having posted yet, but not Friday's.

I noticed that QF had some IT issues over the weekend which seem to affect frequent flyer accounts so maybe the two are connected.

I'm in the same boat - outbound on Friday, return back today. Nothing posted as yet (was not expecting today's SC's to be posted yet anyway)
