QF to give SCs for Classic Awards [Economy(X) only, booked by Dec 31]

Is it just me, or has anyone not received an e-mail re. this promotion? Speaking of e-mails .. are QF supposed to send out monthly FF statements as well - I haven't been receiving them for the last few months; and it's ticked under my preferences ...

Its a WP benefit that you can get your statements via Snail Mail, probably due to the assumption that the majority of WPs might beyond an age where their memory is at its peak so we rely on paper more . I happen to like it simply because it tracks total SCs, unlike the web where the clock stops at LTG.

The monthly newsletter will have your details on it, and effectively is your statement. You're also able to view your activity over the past 12 months online. However should you need more information specific to your account, our Frequent Flyer team on 13 11 31 or [email protected] would be happy to assist.

The call centre told me today that only flights booked on the Website will get the status credits; not those booked over the phone (or presumably through an agent). I can't see this in the T & Cs on the email.

Anyone else come across this?

I have confirmed that this is not the case:

As long as the reservation is made during the promotion period, all economy Classic Award bookings will earn Status credits regardless of booking channel.

?? Got the email, booked 2 flights as classic awards on the 18th, flew on the 19th, activity statement updated today the 20th as "0 points and 0 status credits earned" Seriously ??

As I remember the status credits will take up to six weeks to credit.

I had the same thing happen. Booked in Dec 2013, flew in Feb 2014 (with my husband) and we were both credited with 0 SCs. Emailed QFF and had a call today from a woman saying that classic awards don't earn SCs. I tried to tell her about the promotion but she knew nothing about it! Basically blew me off, told me to forward any emails I received stating the offer and they will "look at it". Not sure why QFF call staff don't know anything about their own promotions... Am hoping SCs will be credited soon otherwise I'll have to call back. I thought it would've been automatic, if every single person who used this promtion has to email or call just to get their SCs then QFF will be very busy!

When I flew the flights on the promotion 0 SCs came through and there was an adjustment a few weeks later, but slack Qantas staff didn't know of the promotion. Looks like Red Roo needs to send a staff memo and tell their staff the procedure.

rmckay01, unfortunately you hit one of the surly QF CSA's - but the fact that they aren't aware of promos is disconcerting. Maybe we need to get the internal reference code for this, so we can point them in the right direction (but even telling them sometimes makes them think that we know State secrets). One would think that each FF account that registered for any promo would have a specific code attaching to the account, so CSA's can see and look up the offer if they are unsure.

Always friendly to first time posters (we were all that at one point in our AFF life). Please keep us informed once they've "had a look at it".

Give it a couple more weeks and if nothing comes through send Red Roo a PM.

Thanks for the replies everyone - happy to say that I checked my account tonight and the SCs were credited on Thursday. Looks like that's the way they're doing it - crediting it at 0 SCs then amending it later. Seems like a confusing way to do it but I'm happy it was sorted for me

Also happy to report that I received a phone call from Q yesterday to let me know that the SCs had been credited to my account (which of course I already knew, but it's still nice to get a phone call to let me know personally). Very happy with the outcome Well, apart from the fact that if we'd flown a few weeks later the SCs would've been earned in our new status year (oops!)

What I find hilarious is that they were AAward flights - and a mix of J & Y. I just took out her AA FF number and added her QF one after making the bookings.
