Range figures are like asking how long is piece of string. I've never quite been able to see how they generate any of them.
Getting to Dallas from Sydney will be easy. You could probably also do it from Melbourne. Tailwinds are always there....all that differs is the magnitude. Holding fuel if the weather is poor at the arrival end may be an issue. Coming back...well the headwinds are always there too. There are a couple of good drop short airports if needed, and they will control the load to maximise the chance of not needing too. Mind you, it's generally better to offload cargo..passengers just don't weigh enough to give back a worthwhile amount of fuel. Also, the ER can be fitted with another 10 tonnes auxiliary fuel tank...all the plumbing is there.
