This is a pilgrimage for me, my father, uncle and my clients. For those that haven't seen it before, here's a taste of last years: QF WP First Test Cricket Report - Australia v New Zealand @ The Gabba
This year is a first - it's a day/night match with a pink ball at the Gabba (the third Test of this nature in Australia after the recent Adelaide Test v South Africa and one last year). That means first ball is bowled at 1pm and in the Cricketers Club, there are actually two meals to be served - a single sitting for lunch as well as dinner. I snagged a lunch sitting for today, as it starts at midday and we don't have to vacate our seats until they re-do everything for the dinner sitting (so a 4 hour lunch could be fun!)
I'm sure there will be some AFF'ers somewhere in the crowd today. Looks like it'll be a bowlers wicket, so winning the toss may be important, as it's hot and humid, so should do a lot off the pitch in the first hour.
I'm at work at the moment, should leave her around 10.30am to make sure that I am there by 11.30 to meet my clients and get seated for lunch. It'll be a tough day with plenty of food, beer and wine shots (plus some obligatory venue and cricket photos). Unfortunately this year I'm only at the Test for the first 2 days (rather than my normal 3)
