Related to the second test, but why does Nic Maddinson get yet another chance, when Callum Ferguson was shown the door so quickly? Guess I have to ask the selectors!

Oh, I forgot, he plays for nsw........

I am thinking the only reason can be the relative ages

In reading through the press reports, Smith personally advocated with the selectors for Maddison...

Since results matter, does it proves he's smart, or biased or talking out of his hat ?
Ferguson is 32 and from SA AND has a test batting average of 2 (one test)
M is now 25 and from NSW AND has a test batting average of 1.66 (two tests) with a third to come
Stuart law (and players like brad hodge) and Ferguson must be infuriated with how they were treated when this one gets 5 chances to prove he's not a dud when so far the 'proof is in the pudding'

A pretty steady start to this test. Certainly a big crowd building up. Thought the opening/anthems was pretty well done

In the entire Australian test cricket history, the selection of Maddison for a third time doesn't stack up.

No one ever has been given that privilege. If it was good enough to turf ferguson it's downright wrong to put aside 139 years of history because of whats best termed as "bromance".

Until those kind of privileges are dispensed with this team will not be successful.

My bill for the first 2 days (drinking) from the QCC turned up this morning by email...quite restained this year. I'd hate to see my clients bill from their table :o
