Looks like QF has zeroed out flights between Australia and Japan until at least July (I don't have EF so it's hard for me to find the exact end date)
Got email re refund Tuesday - money and cc fee returned to AMEX overnightAn Update: Today have been notifed via QF App that the QF79 has been cancelled, and we are being forced on to Mel-Syd and then QF 25 Syd-Haneda to arrive the next morning instead. As I am morally opposed to International Transit in Sydney ( & the direct flight was my main reason for booking) I will be playing call centre Frogger over the next few days to organise a refund of the cash paid. Wish me luck!
Appears like it, I had a QF 25 flight on June 10th in J cancelled on me on Tuesday (12th)Looks like QF has zeroed out flights between Australia and Japan until at least July (I don't have EF so it's hard for me to find the exact end date)
I think there's been times in the past where QF have put people on QF1 or QF9 when this has happened. Maybe it's worth HUCA?Appears like it, I had a QF 25 flight on June 10th in J cancelled on me on Tuesday (12th)
It was the first leg of a journey to the UK. so the entire flight was cancelled, not just the QF 25 part.
Qantas offered me nothing to rectify it - new flight, alternative arrangement, alternative dates, etc.
just a generic "soz bro, guess you'll have to buy a new flight at last minute fully flex prices because everything else is sold out and there are no classic reward options available"
I feel I did speak to someone in the south African call centre by the accent - and on previous experience they are totally useless.I think there's been times in the past where QF have put people on QF1 or QF9 when this has happened. Maybe it's worth HUCA?
Has anyone been able to ascertain whether all QF flights to Tokyo are cancelled for July? We are on QF61 out of BNE on 25 July and haven't been advised of anything. I can see they are no longer selling the flight though. Anyone able to confirm?
yep doesnt look good, I was looking about a month ago at QF 25 and noticed they had ceased selling tickets around the dates I was going, then a week ago they cancelled it on me.Has anyone been able to ascertain whether all QF flights to Tokyo are cancelled for July? best get on the front foot now and try for another flight while it might not be frightfully expensive. If its a reward booking see if you can snag a reward flight to other European destinations, maybe even break up the travel if you were in premium cabins and still want to but the availability is poor (ie; retail flight to X country, then award from Y country). Multi city search is the bomb figuring this out.I did ring Qantas just now.....got through straight away! Customer Service lady (who was v.pleasant and helpful) said it hadn't been cancelled as yet, rather they had stopped selling as JAL was cancelling alot of flights and this was creating havoc at Q as people needed to re-route! It is our first leg on our European adventure so I am feeling very nervous. Any advice on rerouting to get to Berlin would be most appreciated.
I agree - Award 2pax in J.While that's nice of the agent to say I am not sure she would really be in the know as to why revenue is putting a blanket zero across flights.
There's enough evidence here to indicate investigating an alternative would be wise.
Is it paid or an award booking?
Is it a RTW award or point to point?I agree - Award 2pax in J.
I think the chances of finding something are remote
CBR to BNE; BNE to HND (QF); 14 hr layover; HND to HEL(JAL); HEL to BER (AY)
Any advice would be appreciated
Not that it matters. I can see there are 2 J seats flying CBR-SYD (or ADL)-KUL-LHR-BER departing July 27 (or 26 with an overnight connection in SYD or ADL). MH not the best but perhaps it's better than a poke in the eye (aka, any alternative is perhaps better than being left with no alternative). Is it a RTW award or point to point?

Hi Must FlyI think it is what you refer to as point to point. The flights have been booked on one booking reference, including our return to Oz starting from Amsterdam on Emirates through to KUL and then Malaysian back to MEL. Let me have a look at what you found. Again - thanks for your guidance.
I can also see it on AA, but not on Q! - unfortunately insufficient AA points to book but I will keep looking! Thanks for your adviceOthers may be able to answer this. I think if you try to re-ticket the outbound it will reprice everything so you end up paying the now absurd EK surcharges for J awards? Tough spot if so.
As for seeing it. Qantas website is...simple. Sorry. But I can see it via AA, I don't know if they have issues with phantom availability? Might be married segments and can't force via QFF multicity? Again others will have more experience here. Sorry to not be of more assistance.
Thanks - I appreciate your suggestion. Connections are lonnggg! Might be the best available though.Try something along these lines. Connections aren't wonderful but the long flights are in Business.
