QF1/2 F pax experience through SIN

Love it. I need to get into a DYKWIA mood more often.

The dedicated area looks pretty ordinary. Guess I will stick with SQ for flights, or the BA and EK lounges when flying QF - for now. Hopefully lounge and/or new space will improve the amenity for status / F pax over time.
Yes I was underwhelmed. I think they need to up the ante here at SIN and having a scout around the lounge I reckon there’s a few spots that could be properly screened as well as staffed. The new area represents a slightly better option than the old P1/CL area but I wouldn’t really say it’s anywhere close to an F transit experience.
Maybe they have done some research and figure they don’t need to ? Who knows but what’s offered currently is about a million leagues below what was available in DXB.
I’ve used this analogy elsewhere but if they were supermarkets its Aldi v Waitrose.

My experience as a P1 flying F on QF36 to MEL last weekend very similar to those posted above -- so nothing has changed and no sign of any change coming either.

Had checked in at the premium early check-in lounge and went first to the BA lounge where I was the only pax for over an hour. Pure bliss, with good beverage selection and all self-pour (albeit just the one in my case). Food was good except the satays were surprisingly really ordinary and no peanut sauce. EK lounge shut between 15:30 and 17:30 otherwise I'd have eaten there instead.

Moved to the QF lounge mainly just to see how I'd be treated as P1 / F flyer. Didn't have a QF First folder so had my P1 card as well as BP on hand as I entered the QF lounge.

Escorted in, asked if I wanted to eat or use the showers first. I chose just to sit. Taken to the reserved section "by the window". Was warned the lounge was already crowded and transit pax yet to arrive. Also warned there were no boarding calls (I don't understand why they can't do the QF flights - they end up calling for stray pax anyway). Told my gate number and approx walking time. No offer to be escorted to gate at boarding time (though the couple who sat next to me 5 minutes later did get that offer). No other services offered.

Of course the reserved space isn't really by a window as one would expect. It is very exposed with too much passing traffic as people look for a seat. It was initially 'protected' but as soon as someone sat down the reserved sign was removed. If that person/couple then left, the reserved sign was not replaced and other pax - not unreasonably - just sat there. No inclination of the staff to move them on. Lounge was packed. I didn't put my bag on the seat opposite me and, not surprisingly, someone came and sat there with a half-query if they could.

Table service from Faith was great. Champagne offered (declined) but she got a caipirinha for me. Several offers of food. I did have the basil pork stir fry which was nice.

Left a bit early. Got to gate and through security in good time, sat for two minutes and boarded pretty much as soon as it was called. F cabin already half full. The 'escorted' pax arrived about 10 minutes later.

As expected. lounge was a bit of a zoo. but within the QF-inflicted constraints the staff did their best to provide some level of premium service.

As stated by others, they definitely need a bigger, separate (or at least cordoned-off) access controlled space for F pax (and CLs / P1s at least, in my opinion). Otherwise it's all very average for a F experience. I will stay away in future.

Must get out more often, had to look up what a caipirinha is or means...

Faith didn't know either. Fortunately the bar did. Gave it quite a kick too. One was more than enough.

Is it going too far to think of this coughtail as a Brazilian mojito? Raymond(?) behind the bar at HKG CX Pier F makes a mean mojito.
Pretty similar. Caipirinhas are in my experience sweeter, and don't have the soda water fizz / dilution. They aren't in such tall glasses as a result (or have a lot more ice). Mine above just seemed to have a triple dose of cachaca (or rum).

Guy next to me had a G&T and said it was the strongest drink he'd had in a while. Maybe that's an unwritten F perk. Drinks ordered by Faith get made properly.

Now that the kangaroo route is going via SIN again, is anyone booked in F on QF1/2 in the near future who can report on the experience?

No F lounge and guessing no F treatment. I'm sure some of us here would hope otherwise.
Champagne like in LHR?
Maybe a roped off area in the J-level lounge like some other airlines do :D

First time poster. I came to the Singapore bus class lounge today travelling business class to Melbourne. I asked if there is a first class lounge and they said "November". Showed my boarding pass which indicates I'm CL and they just waved me in. Then wandered around looking for a USB charge point. Saw the small reserved section and asked how I reserve a seat and they said no its for first class. I asked what about chairmans lounge and was promptly seated. Nothing special. A bit of attention from the servers. A lady came along and asked if the seat opposite me was free and took a seat.

Welcome.
Hope you stick around. While there are a few CL members in these parts there aren't many.

Love the user name, you'll fit in around here - one term used is WP for W@*$er Platinum.

Very surprised that you didn't get shown to the reserved area as CL but that is Qantas consistently inconsistent.

I was WP and flying F and they told me they were reserved for CL. Looks like they just can't quite decide who they're for.

At least the reserved shower works - just have to flash the BP.

FWIW I've done QF1/2 in F recently, both times transiting through SIN.
As soon as they've seen the BP I've had an escort to the F "reserved table" area, Taittinger, table service and when I asked for a shower, escorted there and given one right near the reception (host indicated to shower attendant me being in F).
Heard staff telling other passengers the reserved area is for F pax.

At least there's one QF lounge with Taittinger.

Can't wait for a separate F lounge. The combined F/J works only if you're in J.

All of the mixed lounges have Tattinger (or some kind of French champagne) if you are in F or CL/P1, so that’s SIN, LHR, PER (Transit), HKG, and BNE I think

I do agree about the separate F lounge. Especially as someone who’s dropping down to WP soon, it’s nice having a separate lounge

I know some OWE QF lounges have champange, this was in response to Taittinger being removed from MEL/SYD F. :(

Oh I didn't realise they have removed Taittinger being removed from the F lounge. But my point was for the mixed lounges (like SIN) have a hidden champagne offer, shame that its only for P1/CL/F though

The CL / F / P1 menu for LHR .... didn’t see one in SIN
