You could try SeatCounter - The Booking Class Availability Machine

By "today" I presume you mean current SFO time or Mon 12th January.

(It's 3:30pm Tue in SYD)

Interestingly enough E/F is returning : RC F8 A8 J9 C9 D9 I6 B9 H9 K9 M9 L9 V9 S9 N9 Q9 O9 XC E0

C's is unusual; it's showing for R and X.

In any case, presence of O9 indicates there are plenty of available seats on WHY.

thanks for that, doesn't surprise me its rather quiet here in departures at the moment. Got a 744ER (VH-OEI) for the flight home, always a promising start!

Thanks again!

Pulled seatcounter - lines up apart from I class
S/C R0 F8 A8 J9 C9 D9 I- B9 H9 K9 M9 L9 V9 S9 N9 Q9 O9 X- E-
E/F RC F8 A8 J9 C9 D9 I6 B9 H9 K9 M9 L9 V9 S9 N9 Q9 O9 XC E0

I wonder if RC on E/F is recognising its a 744 and R is not offered?

The C on EF means that the specific class and its waitlist is "closed". Makes sense for awards in X since they must be booked at least 24 hours before the flight.

Other partner airlines may not have the 24 hour restriction

I wouldnt view high values so close to departure as necessarily being indicative of a quiet flight, just that there are some seats and they could be prepared to let them go to any paid fare

Thais can be the case, however, IME with Qantas, O9 36 hours before a flight tends to indicate plenty of seats - certainly more than 9.

...if only your flight was a couple of days later...

The A380 is doing the Wednesday flight (part of the G'Day LA promo gig)
