QFF Bonus Status Credits/Points gift on back of Aug 2023 profit

Just read about this on Reddit and I have an email from QF telling me of my offer - 24,964 kms. Also 75/5000. Nothing on my app so far but bAlt who uses android received the 75/5000 off (Bronze). SCs are no use for him so took the 5000. I'm refreshing my apps on my iphone but nothing yet. I'll be taking the 75 as it is edging me closer to LTG.

Just refreshed and 75SC gladly accepted
Thanks - that did the trick.

75 SCs or 5000 points, that was a no-brainer.
Hi, question is will Qantas extend status in 2024? if so the 75 status points are immaterial(?) does anyone know??

Don’t expect any further “status keeper” beyond what’s in play now.

I've got the email, but the app isn't showing. I'm doing the old windows trick of rebooting my apple phone as it also said it was updated. Hopefully will work. Thankfully, my membership year starts this month but have CBR-SYD-JNB (edit... yes JoBurg) coming up in a few weeks. Still as thats only Y+ i was going to need a few mote point to retain Gold and stil not LTG yet either :).

Edit: reboot fixed whatever issue i had and it picked up an update for the app. Add in the green tier i just added and thats 125 SC's to start my membership year :)

On the back of today's (Thurs 24/8/23) QF profit announcement, just received an email from QF, thanking me for flying with them and offering me a reward of 5000 pts or 75 Status credits (Hmm which one to take...lol).

"As a gesture of our thanks for making us part of your travel plans over the past year, and to celebrate the 47,065 kms we've flown together, we would like to offer you a gift of either 5,000 Qantas Points or 75 Status Credits, that can be redeemed via the Qantas App."

Presumably it is individualised based on km flown/class and ?status.

Make your choice by Aug 30 or it lapses.

Others' experiences?

"We recognise other airlines are fast becoming the choice for our Frequent Flyers. To try to retain your loyalty, here's a token measure that will make you feel warm and fuzzy, but wont cost us anything. We thank you for your loyalty and hope the impending increase in prices and reduction in quality occurs while you continue feeling warm and fuzzy"

I got the 5,000/75SC offer too, with 48,000km travelled.

Now, I probably should know the answer to this but don’t, do the SCs count towards the LT total and points towards PC renewal? I couldn’t see it specifically listed in the T&Cs.

30sc and 1000 points. Took the former. Have not flown on Qantas this year but have taken award flights on other airlines. Can't see this offer in the website for MrP so will check tonight on his app. He has flown with Qantas. Including today.

Give and take too.
Yes, the SC/points are good, but they also need you or the person, to book a flight, ie, they get your $.
Cunning.
In the end, its just like a DSC/double points earn, on a J class forward booking on a mid haul Aust dom flight.
It's not book a NEW flight, it's for those that have BOOKED/FLOWN within the stated period.

So "they" already got the money for the flight taken (or booked) prior to 21 August - before this appeared.

It's not "just like" a DSC/DP offer.. because this is for activity already completed.

While it's a bit of a bribe to keep with QF imo, it's not actually requiring any new spend.

A generous SC offer, shame it has to be decided on within a week so cannot be bumped to next membership year :( I wonder if it's targeted to those who have requal'd WP but have no realistic chance of making P1 (so very little cost to QF in real terms)?

A quandary in any case, having already hit PC+, take the points or slightly accelerate the progress to LTG, which I should be getting to organically in ~18 months anyway...

I'm pretty sure it's only the app where it is offered.
It's also an incentive for people to update and/or download the app.

In the last 18 months when this has happened, we've seen two highly publicised, premium reward seat dumps, coupons, employee bonuses, and now this.

The timing is rather unsubtle, isn’t it? What are we talking about on AFF - the enormous profit ( derived from high fares, cancelled service, yada yada) or the prezzies?

Great take. Something tells me this isn't much of a hurdle on a problem on a frequent flyer forum.

You might be surprised. I was once a frequent flyer for work. Now I don't travel for work at all and there's no point flying domestically because I already live in Melbourne. I fly internationally only for leisure and use points for almost all my flights. These are seldom QF flights because they don't release them in a timely fashion to NBs like me. I use this forum for wisdom on collecting and using points.

It is sometimes easy to imagine that everyone else is in the same situation as oneself. I constantly have to guard against doing so.

Yes. Just logged him in on my iPad app and he was offered 5000 or 75 Status credits. Already LTG but need to requalify WP by April.

I'd done 69,000km according to my email (across around 60 sectors) during the past year. Got 5k QFF/75SC offer.
