QFF Bonus Status Credits/Points gift on back of Aug 2023 profit

^Distances are based on Qantas marketed and operated flights from 1 July 2022 to 30 August 2023 where your Qantas Frequent Flyer membership number was quoted in the booking.

Wow, so my 85,497 kms didn't even include the Sydney-London-LA-Sydney trip I just completed this week on BA/AA booked using Qantas points? No wonder I came closer to P1 last membership year (3351 SCs) than ever before, or likely ever will again.

In the past, the choice between a "mere" 5000 points and 75 SCs would have been a no-brainer (SCs all the way), but I'm going to hit both Lifetime Gold and Platinum again this year anyway (the latter thanks to the 500 SC bonus). So what with LTG and WP secured, there's really no point in choosing SCs any more is there? So will have to go with the 5000 points instead. I chose the points over SCs for Green Tier this year for the same reason.

Have you got the latest app update?
no idea.

The email has me down as 46,736 kms. If it's just QF operated since 1 July 2022, then that would be CBR-MEL-SIN-SYD-CBR, CBR-MEL, HND-SYD-CBR, CBR-SYD-DFW, LHR-SIN, SYD-CBR (which gcmap says is 46,675 km)

I was offered 30/1000 with 10 flights as a Bronze/PC. My annual is ending this month and am short about 40 SCs for Silver tier.

I got the 5000/75 offer with 104570km flown. Took the points as I am already over 1800SC with at least 600 more coming this membership year.

The status credits are no use to me, because they won't help to get me over the line before my membership anniversary of 31 August - so they would just be extinguished. They would be handy for next year, when I plan to do a lot more flying.

My pref would be for 75 status points. However, my membership year finishes on 31 Aug when all my earned status points will be forfeited. My Platinum status has already been extended to Aug 2024. So 75 points for 1 week......I don't think so. Notwithstanding, have popped of an Email to QF asking if the deadline could be extended to September.......one can only ask....but not holding my breath.

Received the below in my Qantas app this morning. Full T&Cs available here: https://www.qantas.com/au/en/freque...-from-qantas-terms.html?client_id=qftravelapp

Appears to be a choice of 30/75 status credits or 1000/5000 points.

Must select your gift by 30 August - which is slightly annoying for those with a 1 September anniversary date (like myself) as the 75 SCs would have been a nice way to start the new year!

Ditto!
Does anyone know if any SC will rollover like last year?
Already requalifed for Gold and no chance of going for platinum.

Hard to say “no” to 30 SC’s when it’s 10% of what I need to get to LTG. Still not flying QF (notwithstanding VA’s poor on-time numbers for July as I wasn’t affected).

Nothing for Mrs Happy Dude or the kids. The kids have absolutely nothing in their activity history. The Mrs has one redemption for her father and a bunch of EDR points. We took some Finnair and Emirates reward flights in July, booked from my account, but those are yet to show as activity even though all had QFF numbers added.

Wondering if there's a distinction for rewards flights booked for yourself with your own account or those booked by someone else.

I got offered 1000 points or 30 SC.

I've already retained Platinum this year, so don't need the 30 SC, but 1000 points seems even more useless to me. Hard to choose.

My friend has flown once to Manila return but spent $5k on flights for his family to fly also and was offered 75sc. This seems like it could be a $ thing. I still believe its related to your % accrued, such as close to gold gets less and far from gets more.

This is a very high SC / low points ratio - compared to the regular loyalty bonus of 50SC / 8000 points.

SCs are much more valuable - except if you don't need them, in which case they're worthless.

It will depend on your situation.

I think the reason for the high ratio is:

- When you choose points, the airline division presumably has to pay the loyalty division for the internal transfer price of those points
- When you choose SC, there is no accounting entry in QF's books
