QFF Ideas & Suggestions

The ability for the QF Premium desk to have access to the jetstar booking system.

Would make life a lot easier.

I was going to say "they can"?

Until I realised that was more of a suggestion, and then yes that would be useful considering what we had to go through on the weekend ;)
I know this may sound stupid but there is some merit to it.

You want QF to provide First Class check-in facilities (or Business Class check-in) for JQ flights, which is their low cost subsidiary and theoretically separate company? I thought the whole idea of JQ was to keep the costs down which is what is happening right now. The saying 'you get what you pay for' comes to mind.

Just because someone wants a few minutes extra First Lounge time does not justify allocating the resources. Does it?

IMO, yes, yes it does.

...but they are adding a whole layer of complexity (and expense) going down the path of allowing QF codeshares on JQ (and coming soon, selected 3K services will also have QF codeshares) to be sold as part of oneWorld fares. Just perhaps, they are seeing some competitive advantage in offering some value-add, that is not strictly the preserve of the LCC. Perhaps DJ has a point in opting for the middle ground!!!

*shrugs* I did say the idea may sound stupid.

Anyway time will tell but personally I would not make it the number 1 focus just so some status runners/Floungers need some extra time in the Flounge. ;)

Platinums can use the F checkin or J checkin for JQi flights...

I'm not sure if this is true. I was booked on a Qantas FF ticket and the F check-in refused to check me in from SYD-HNL. Do JQi flights allow check-in at the QF premium desks?

It was a suggestion.. although there are stories of it happening in the past..

Whilst anything to make life (and checkin) a little easier would be 'nice', I tend to agree. Cannot see any logical reason why someone flying airline A, which has checkin counters at the airport, should be able to use the checkin counters of Airline B.

Now that I've said that, watch them introduce it.:lol:

Airline B is a subsidiary of airline A though.

A "TICK/PRESS THIS BUTTON TO EXCLUDE JQ FLIGHTS IN SEARCH" would be handy to have.
Don't remind me.

I have lost count of the number of times I have seen QF265/QF266 and that stupid JQ MEL-SIN flight take up useful space in the list of available flights to choose.

How simple would it be to exclude JQ flights? I do not want them appearing on the list of available flights. It is so frustrating....

this seems like a great new idea from Red Roo....

have stuffed it. will try later.
but a very funny photo though

Wonder how they provide a connection for that AVV option?

Good pick-up Markis10. I honestly don't know? Shuttle bus? Who pays?

I think that we (+ others both on AFF and the general flying public) have a common problem here. How to exclude JQ flights from QF searches???

If l wanted JQ flights, l'd be looking on the JQ Website for starters. Sure, l do get more options, but l'm not interested in JQ at all. A simple "tick here to exclude JQ" would be fantastic.

We can only pray, but l honestly can't see this happening as JQ are now talking about flying to Europe/USA with the new 787's once delivery starts. If anything, JQ and QF will get even more integrated.
