QFF Platinum requesting release of extra Classic Reward seats?

Airport agents do not do res or ticketing functions and there are no longer ticketing desks like days of yore.
There are no ticketing desks even at the international side? Interesting. Although one does wonder what power a lowly QF check-in agent at the airport has these days. Can they transfer you onto another QF service? Evidently that is possible. Seat selections and upgrades are also available, it seems. What about changing a ticket already issued?
Pretty sure an airport agent will say sorry and tell you to call res.
We'll have to see!

Perhaps the agent's comment about requests not being available close to departure is a reflection on the lower likelihood of the necessary class of fare being available that close out.

A number of those functions, like flow forward, seat changes etc are operational for flights under airport control.

Functions like seat release requestions are res functions and quite different and definitely not part of usual airport operational requirements.

While yes, some can override inventory controls to effect flow forward type functionality, that is different in my view to specialised inventory access controls such as release of P/U/Z/X entails.

You'll be fine! Just confirm with the helpful staff at the QF F check-in area, and they will direct you to the special counter where all the cool stuff is done. Then just follow the signs like this one, below, which will lead you right to it! :P

Have you looked at other, indirect options?

QF16 via BNE and QF96 via MEL both have wide open inventory and may just get you what you're after...

No.....

We have a BA flight coming in at 14:55 so QF12 fits. I'll look at the others.
We're already on QF12 on the 8th but after 30+ days away I will just wanna get home.

So - whats the better DOM J lounge? Brisvegas is a bit Meh so I'd probs go to MEL.
What's the crowd think?

Quick one, what are the chances of opening up seats on LHR - MEL (14/12), MEL - LHR (4/1). Do I bother with the Skype call from the UK or start looking at other airlines for redemption. Thanks

Chances are zero if you don't try. Will the UK reservations number redirect to Hobart?

I think pretty much zero in premium classes.
But as per @exceladdict worth a call anyway.

I think it is beyond pretty much zero

I mean looking at UK-POS right now for the dates provided (14/12 and 4/1)

QF10 and QF9 for those dates have no D or I class
QF2 and Qf1 MAY be possible is the poster is P1 since there is D9 and D3 respectively but that’s about it

High peak demand time. Super unlikely - specially for multiple seats.. but no harm in asking. UK res number shoukd redirect I woukd think (US does)
